Not that preseason means a whole lot but, so far the sharks look pretty good (5-1). Most of the teams that were good last year are still good this year, and there are a couple of new teams who started strong as well. Dallas went 6-1 which should be good news for AP. The home opener for San Jose is this Saturday, and I'll be there. I'll be way the fuck in the back of the upper level, but I will technically be at the game.

AP is first a Red Wings fan. First a bengals fan, First a Cincinnati Reds fan, then about equal on the mavs & cavs. I've kinda of adopted the Dallas area teams though as it's really hard to follow some of those teams with limited coverage here. Also the Reds and Bengals are sometimes really hard to like when their ownership and management has run it into the ground.

I don't think the Stars are all they are cracked up to be. They will see with their home and home vs. the Hawks this weekend. I've never been this excited for hockey season in my life. I watched more preseason then ever before! Getting the NHL Center Ice package this year as well! I have an outside chance of grabbing a couple tickets to the Hawks/Bruins game on the 18th. My birthday is the 20th, so going to that game, and then a minor league hockey game the 22nd would be perfect!! When will Syd the Kid come back? I realize he is great, but I think they are going a bit overboard on the precautions.

I don't think the Stars are going to be all that impressive either. I just mentioned them because I'm surprised at how well they started out. Teams to watch:

Sharks: Notable losses of Setoguch and Heatley, but a HUGE gain in Burns.
Penguins: Still way awesome even without Crosby in the early part of the season.
Bruins: Mostly the same team as far as I know. They're beating Philly 1-0 as I type this.

Sorry AP, I hate Chicago. They're good and worth a mention for sure, but we have so many BH fans here and it's fucking annoying. Bandwagoning gets on my nerves.

Just to clarify. AP doesn't give a fuck for the Chicago blackshits. You have to go through a lot of scenarios before root for Chicago over any other team. AP has a hard on for Detroit hockey.

Venting here. I order the Red Zone package which gives me comcast sportsnet and fox sports nets everywhere plus NFL and NHL channels. The one channel it doesn't give me is Vs. Comcast are complete fucks. They are holding Vs. ransom against Dish Network. I now have to drop another 10 bucks to get pretty much just VS. Even with NHL Center Ice, I can't get any games that are also on Vs. That means if I get the Center Ice package, I'll pretty much be watching Canadian teams and sprinkle in a few west coast games that I don't really give two shits about at Midnight.

SJ does the ball sucking when it comes to skating the cups. How about making it to the finals at least once before pulling out of the Bay area for the second time. Tampa has even won a cup.

I suppose I could talk shit about Chicago about them winning it once every 30 years or so, but they've at least made it to the finals 4 times in the last 40 years. Winning it more recently than Detroit. So I reserve my shit talking about Chicago until Detroit is at least clearly better than them.

AP concedes that Detroit is probably not better than either San Jose or Chicago this season and definitely not last least season. But it's not like SJ or Niggerhawks are vastly better either.

AP likes Pittsburgh and Vancouver in the finals.

If I was making any money right now, I would bet you on total points by the end of the regular season. Since I'm not, I will reserve my proposel until I see green.


Sharks Hawks Wings in that order. Sharks will ultimatly do what they always do, and that is not show up at the end of the year. I'm hoping for a Hawks Wings conference Finals. That's the way it should be in the Western Conference!

I think you missed the part where I said something along the lines of Detroit not being better that SJ or Chicago this season. If money were involved, I probably bet on SJ to have the most points as well. I'd probably bet that Detroit and Chicago finish within less than 10 points between them. I'm not too much of a homer to lose touch with reality.

Interesting 2-1 Dallas win against the blackcocks last night. It's possible I could have underestimated them, but I'm sticking with "they're not that great."

Lechinan (SP) looked incredible. Hawks had alot of chances, but couldn't bury them. The break away goal for Dallas was awful. Leddy has to get his body in front of him. The Hawks are in trouble if they can't score on the Power play. Crawford looked great. It could have easily been 4-1. Home opener tonight. Hopefully, a win is in the books.

Dallas is off to a good start and playing to an empty arena. Rumor is when Hicks files for chapter 11 to sell the team, it's inevitably headed to Canada.

The Sharks have taken out Chicago and Dallas recently, putting them 3rd in the league (despite having played less games than #1 and #2). Jonathan Goews didn't have shit for them and I suspect Stanley might be paying a visit to the Bay Area this year--provided of course someone gives Crosby another concussion.
