Official Nubblies Contest #3: Quality Counts - Nubblies.net Forums

With the first two down, UB and I decided that a change of pace would be nice for Contest #3. Since the first two forced participants to go out and make something happen, this son of a bitch is going to take place on equal ground: within the forums.

The object of #3 will be to flood the board with quality. What the hell does that mean? It means that you'll be paid for being a good member. From 12:01 AM, November 5th, 2003 - 11:59 PM, November 30th, 2003, Ugly and I will be keeping tabs on new topics and witty replies.

The basic gist is simple: if you make a new topic, you'll get a number of points for it, anywhere from -5 to 10. All topics started within this time period will be looked at. Of course, there is a chance that you'll simply receive 0 points for a certain topic, but that doesn't mean it wasn't looked at and judged.

Along with new topics, all posts are subject to points, although they won't be nearly as handily dealt for replies. Also, it should be noted that we can't guarantee that every post made will be surveyed for points; however, we can say that, between the two of us, we read probably 99.9% of the shit posted on the boards...basically, if you post it, it'll be subjected to points. That said, it should be noted that most single posts will not gain or lose their author points. Although making a decent reply in a thread may net you one or two points, and posting porn or something may result in a loss of 3, the vast majority of posts will simply result in no change of your points.

What kind of shit are we looking for? Oh, this and that...we're not too picky. Things we like include: creative stuff & post catalysts. Of course, each point value given will be subjective, but that's not to say that our basic scaled don't jive quite well.

For those curious, this is how we will judge. As we visit the board daily, UB and I will survey the new shit. We'll take note of new topics crafted, deal out points as necessary in a notepad file (or something of that sort), and go on with our reading. We'll each do this on our own, without talking to the other one about our scoring. Every few days, we'll briefly compare notes so that we can get a feel as to who is winning the race. When we do this, we'll update the thread by telling you who is winning at that point in time. We won't give any specific point values at any time during the contest. Once the deadline has come, we'll average each member's point value and post the standing, crowning the champion with the trophy & golden N.

We're looking at about 2 hours until the cockbear begins. Best of luck to you all.
