Alright, when I first started reading this list I thought, alright this is pretty good, but it got really bad, really fast.

A big part of the list is "most influncial" type shit...

James Hetfield is like 20-something, and Kirk Hammett is 70-something. Hammett definately deserves a spot on the list, and I think the 70's are good for him, but fucking James Hatfield at 20? Give me a fucking break

And Kurt Cobain is on there... at like 19 or 20....seriously, Kurt Cobain the 20th best guitarist of all time...

They lumped everyone who had ever played in the Allman Brothers together, and then didn't even put them that high...

They got number one right though.

It's good to see the Reverend finally get some recognition (#86)...
I would have liked to see Page Hamilton, John Christ, Albert Lee, and Rufus "Tee Tot" Payne.

And I don't really like his music, but Dave Matthews definitely deserves a spot before many of the people that made it.

I pretty much agree with numbers 1-15, but I am disappointed that Brian May was not put in the top ten.

Hendrix fell one short of where I would have put him. And B.B. should have been 3 or 4 to me.

Nonetheless, great find Pliedes.

After looking over the list, I laughed to myself. I knew before I clicked on the link that it was going to be a bunch of crap, I was sure right. In my OPINION, I believe that the top 3 should be:

1) Phil Keaggy
2) David Russell
3) Michael Hedges

I'd list more then 3, but I couldn't decide where to place the other ones...

Give us a solid post detailing how exactly he is the worlds greatest guitarist. It only seems appropriate that you must include audio samples by all of the greatest guitarists ever (that's a lot, and apparently you've listened to every single one of them, so it shouldn't be too much for you). Please specify exactly, and I mean exactly, how it is a "truth" that he is the worlds greatest guitarist. Also necessary is a definition of the word "truth" along with this paper.
Otherwise, every person who reads your posts are going to think you're an utter fool and ignorant beyond comprehension.
Thanks!

Ok professor Pliedes, Jimi Hendix even said Keaggy was the best in the world. It may be my opinion about this, but it is also MANY MANY other peoples oponions. I have listen to many great guitarists, and phil tops every single one. So who do you think is the best guitarist in the world?

Apparently you have yet to catch the late night infomercial featuring Esteban, who is actually the world's greatest guitarist.

Apparently none of you have heard of a cd title "initium" by this band called seraphim, that rhythm guitarist is what I would define the word "best" as. Not saying "best" guitarist, just "best."

If by "best" you mean "has the biggest penis ever" then yes, you'd be correct.

My brother playing phils music has nothing to do with why i think he's the worlds greatest guitarist. I have heard almost all his music and seen him play live 3 times. That is what i base my thoughts on.
