My friends,
GUINESS IS NOT THICK IT'S IN YOUR HEAD. Some photo evidence: ![]() ![]() ![]() Look! The Guiness is on top! That's because it's less dense. Thickness (viscosity) is a different measure than density, yes. But just from this visual example you can see how claims of Guiness being "heavy" are downright wrong! The perceived "thickness" comes from flavour and millions of tiny little bubbles formed from "Guiness gas" or "beer gas." Draught beer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Drink it tonight. It's delightful. It doesn't fill you up like some of the heavier lagers and ales. It has more flavor. And it's sooooo tasty when it's super-chilled. |

![]() ![]() But yes its thickness comes from the head, and because thats where your lips are its easy to confuse its viscosity. I think the 'heavy' thing comes from ease of drinking |

For some reason I can chug guinness like there's no tomorrow. Due to that fact, and its relatively low alcohol content, it's what I've chosen to attempt Das Boot with.

Yes sir I have. In fact I drink them every year on St. Patrick's Day at the annual pig roast at Mulvaney's restaurant. Last year I was almost arrested for charging a cover at the door (there wasn't supposed to be one). I miraculously escaped out of the second story window of the owner's office and lived to drink another day.

<--- Hates Guniess, unless it is the beer via an Irish Car Bomb. Then it is okay with a shot mixed in. Sorry, I'm an American Red Neck through and through.

I would encourage people to try other Stouts and Porters as well; Murphy's and Beamish are probably the next most popular in the world. Anything called "Russian Imperial Stout" is giong to be the most exagerated example of the style.
"God Save the Queen" for the most iconic IRISH product in the world? Thats not sacreligious or anything. |

On St. Patrick's day I drank an 8% beer called the Wasatch Devastator, and it was horrible. It tasted like bull fuck. I hope you all had a better time then I did.
