I found this information on RHCP's website, so all I have is the top 22. Well, here they are. It's a very odd list, and I'm not sure I agree with all of it. It is kind of funny to see things like Korn next to Dave Matthews. In all honesty, reading some of these names makes me want to completely disreguard the list, but most of them are alright. For instance, I would assume the Beatles would be somewhere above Green Day...or at least on the list...I don't know. Maybe that's me.
1.Nirvana 2.Metallica 3.Guns N Roses 4.U2 5.Radiohead 6.Linkin Park 7.Red Hot Chili Peppers 8.Green Day 9.Pearl Jam 10.No Doubt 11.Smashing Pumpkins 12.Nine Inch Nails 13.The Cure 14.Oasis 15.Aerosmith 16.Korn 17.Dave Matthews Band 18.Alice In Chains 19.Phish 20.Limp Bizkit 21.Van Halen 22.R.E.M |

I went back here to quadruple check what I already knew, and yes it does say "Greatest Bands of All Time." I still didn't buy it. So, I went digging. I found this Reuters article on a Phish website. Apparently it was a situation where you were to get on their website and vote for the greatest band. Of course, since it was set up by MTV2, they only provided the ability to vote on bands that have had "their greatest string of comercial success during the post-MTV era, circa 1981."
To make my arguement short and sweet, it shouldn't be called "MTV2's Greatest Bands of All Time". It should be "MTV2's Recent Decent Bands, a Handful of No-Tallent "Musicians", and the Ass Raping of Rock Icons." |

It won't. The never ending cycle of new braindead 12 yr old consumer whores will ensure their survival. Something horrible would have to happen to take MTV down. Like a large explosion or several explosions.
I agree that MTV sucks, but MTV2 is decent. Its the only thing they have going for them as far as decent music goes. Its ridiculous that a network for music has programming that is at least 60% non-music related. Thats where MTV2 comes in. However, it could just end up being an extension of MTV, preparing the way for MTV3 - "Where We Actually Play Music." |

VH1 is starting to get like MTV. In fact, its a little better in some respects. It's a network for old people, but it doesn't have stupid screaming fans in the middle of its videos like TRL. That bugs me very much.

You mean the "It's good to be" shows. I hate them too, there's nothing like them telling us about all their millions upon millions of dollars to make us feel a little less of worth.
