Reagan was a good president, but it's crazy how the GOP has essentially deified him. There's no way he would stand up to today's scrutiny and hyper-purity; he raised taxes, for one, and left office with a huge deficit. I also think his role in the collapse of the Soviet Union was largely circumstantial - the Soviet system was unsustainable and bound to collapse. Any sitting American president at the time would have been telling them to "tear down this wall" (or some variation) but probably not as eloquently.
I agree with AP that Clinton will be looked back on as a good president (but maybe a sleazy person). But really, nobody likes any president - at least not from the last 100 years - and especially during their time. Go down the list: Truman, FDR, Nixon, Carter, Bush, Hoover, Woodrow...I would agree in saying Lincoln is probably the best ever, given the insane circumstances he had to deal with. Washington largely gets credit for his time as a general more so than president. It's probably best to leave these debates up to presidential historians who really know what they're talking about.
