Perhaps it's your blanket statements regarding how government can't do anything right. No matter what it may appear to be, you seem to think the private sector can do it, better, cheaper, and more efficiently. Whether or not that is the case. It's too broad of a brush to paint with. Your road example blames the guy who wrote the check for the shitty job a (mostly likely) private contractor did. Build your own road next time and refuse the money.
