Alright, I'm gonna rant. I am so pissed off! So I date a guy for 6 months, we break up. We've been broken up for 6 months and WTF, all the sudden he tells me he's fallen in love with me! What is this shit!?!?!? We aren't even dating, how could he love me??? Trust me, he's not saying it just to get me back or into bed or whatever else you guys are going say. I know he thinks he means it. I think I made the guy cry. But anyway, sure it's a nice gesture and everything, but the fact that he said it is really messing with me. Seriously getting to me. It's got me all upset. It took 2 nights of hour long talks to get things straightened out and for him to understand that there is no way we are going to get back together, but now I feel like I lost a really great friend. After being so close to someone you befriend their family and friends and now because he's on crack and thinks he loves me, Im going to lose all that because I turned the idea down and told him he was crazy. (in the nicest possible way of course) But Im pissed because I'm losing some really great relations and basically I'm just pissed because he said "I Love You."
Someone, post. Tell me I'm not crazy. |

you're not crazy.
It's really quite common that after a relationship is over, for one or both of the people involved to conveniently only remember the good things about it and want it back... when/if they get back together, however, they notice all of the problems they had resurfacing. That's why there are so many people who are or have been caught in an 'on again, off again' type of relationship where they break up only to make up and start the cycle anew. It's sad. |

no, jokes help. Thanks guys. But see we didnt break up because of problems. We got along great, always did. We never fought once! He was always trying to make be happy. We broke up mutually and now, I know, for 2 different reasons.
1. My intrest was just fading, something wasnt right, tongue, you probably know who I am talking about and you know that we are completely different on everything. Opposites attract, but only if there are at least some common interests. our only common interest: football 2. Appearently he thought he was going to get too close to me, get attached, fall in love, so that was his reason. But now I know neither of us told each other that when we did break it off. All I know, is that this is serious enough to the point that because his parents love me and want us back together, my parents love him and want us back together, and he THINKS he loves me and wants to get back together, that if we had, we very well might have been getting married or something extreme like that in just a few short years. I cant handle that, I dont even like the guy like that. I just feel horrible and needed people to tell me I was in the right. Thanks again. While I know that you don't want to hear that he said that just to get you back, or in bed, or something of that nature, that's what I'm going to tell you. He thinks that he's too hot to handle, so in order to win your heart over he tells you that he loves you with his predicted outcome being that you'd never turn down such a prize man as him. You, thinking rationally, forced reality to come slamming in on him. He cried because he realized that people are going to find out that he's not Mr. Hot Shit anymore now that he's been turned down. He's going to whine and cry and bitch about it until some little tramp comes along feeling sorry for him and gives him some sympathy head, then he'll be completely over you and right back on his previously high flying ego trip.
Good work faraway, it's about time. Now go for what you really want. ![]() |

Faraway, I'm going to disagree with what everyone else has said and say that I think he really does love you. He wouldn't have said it if he didn't mean it, duh. I believe that you should get back together. This time don't be such a stiff in the sack and it might work out. Good luck to yah.

So this means that you're single, faraway? Contest may proceed?

I wish I had someone to say that to and really felt it and meant it ! But life goes on and eventually it will come around. If someone loves me right now they are keeping it a secret......damn them.

I think I agree with Niger on this one. I have only one comment and that is, yes someone can say I love you and not mean it. People do it all the bloody time.

I hope you enjoy living on top of the world, when you die knowing you lived your life on your knees.

faraway,
Does it really even matter whether he meant it when he said that he loved you? You keep saying it was a "mutual" break-up but YOU seem to be the only one no longer interested. You also keep contesting that there is no possible way for him to mean what he told you. Well, maybe its that you don't see it that way because the feeling isn't mutual. In my opinion, you seem like some cold-hearted bitch to not take him seriously. Those words should never be taken lightly, especially when its someone you care about. If you really need feedback telling you that you did the right thing in order to feel better, I think you may already know how much of a bitch you are. Getting on here and saying how much you're going to miss the "relations"??? What the hell is that? Like you're ever going to call up his mom or dad one day and talk to em just because you missed them. "Hi, its me, your son's ex-girlfriend, how are you?" Gimme a break. If you wanna know the real truth, I think you're just afraid of admitting to yourself that you've hurt someone. Otherwise, why else would you feel bad? |

No, no your'e not getting it. Trust me, Anky, I'm not cold. I know why I feel bad, I feel bad because I hurt him. I took him seriously and thats why it was so hard to tell him that I didnt feel the same way, because I didnt want to hurt someone I care about. I dont want to loose him as a friend. Anyone who knows me, knows that I would have been extremely sensitive in a situation like this and I was. I promise, Im not a bitch, Im not the way this thread might portray me as.
The break-up was mutual. He was actually the one who incinuated it all, and I agreed. We just broke up for different reasons and we never clearly said what each of our reasons were. We just simply said it wasnt going to work out, so we ended it. Thats where the confusion came from. And as for the stated "relations" Yes, I am going to miss his family and the friends that I made through him, still mostly missing my friendship with him. But one of his brothers goes to the high school, and I am constantly bumping into his parents all over, and his friends are friends of mine, and they all have brothers at the high school that I am friends with. So yes I am going to miss the "relations" but no I never said I am going to just randomly call up his parents, but I am the type, and we are close enough that if I was "in the neighborhood" I would just drop by, to say hello. But what you arent realizing is that he is still the main focus. The only reason this is a rant, is because I try not to get worked up with relationships and just roll with the punches, and Im pissed because of what an emotional thing this has become, and I hate the fact that I did something that I know was the right decision but that is hurting someone I care about dearly, not to mention, messing with me. Ask The Butcher, he knows what a mess I've been about it. I havent been much of myself, because yes, I've hurt someone I cared about, but I dont think there were any other alternatives. |

Faraway, I just need to run one more examination before you go. If you can just get up on this table and remove your gown...
