Although some of you may not agree with this, because the champ room is a very easy way to make cash, get scrolls, and magic items, I think something needs to be done about it.

The champ room is completely killing dungeons. The champion room gives players no incentive to go to dungeons for magic items/gold because you can get 10x as much in the champ room just as easy, if not easier.

I was thinking possibly doing this instead. Instead of spawning champions in the room there, spawning them in dungeons, probably the bottom level. Ill make sure theres enough room around away from spawn so you can safely still do them, but this will at least give players an incentive to go back down in dungeons. Ive a few different times upped the gold loot and put better magic items on monsters in dungeons, but yet most everyone only gets both of those from the champ room.

What do you guys think? I know forcing players to dungeons will also possible force some pvp, and in a more hostile environement, so hopefully it will either spice up the shard, or spread it out making it hard to find others. I dunno... give me input on what could be down about champs. I still want you guys to be able to get pscrolls, but not like you are now.

I like the idea a lot. All anyone did was go into the champ room to kill everything. Also, now you won't have people coming in and stealing your monster most likely, at least not like they did when all you had to do was teleport straight to it. Since you can't recall to dungeons, it'll make people go through dungeons, most likely more on a journey of killing shit than just running through. Great idea Nathan.

Its actually the way OSI meant to do champs. The champ system in OSI is far more complex though, Its much like a gaunlet of little creatures. For instance Neira. It would start with ghouls and wraiths. You kill enough and bone magis and mummys came. After that you got liches and skeleton knights, and then finally after that you had rotting corpses and lich lords. Once all of this is completed, THEN the champion spawns. You still got the same amount of gold, scrolls, etc. So just consider the last few champs you do in the champion room a gift.
