BOOM! HEADSHOT!!!
Federal Reserve Loses Bloomberg FOIA Lawsuit, Sensitive Disclosures Forthcoming Aug. 24 (Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve must make public reports about recipients of emergency loans from U.S. taxpayers under programs created to address the financial crisis, a federal judge ruled. This is in relation to a lawsuit filed by Bloomberg LP against the Federal Reserve on November 7, 2008, in Southern District of New York (08-09595), in which Bloomberg sought material loan and collateral data in relation to emergency loans released by the Fed, and which were previously claimed to be non-FOIAble. This is a large blow against the Fed and specifically against organizations using FOIA loopholes from providing critical information, specifically in cases involving trillions of taxpayer dollars bailing out huge, systematically and politically embedded financial organizations. The conclusion from the order just issued by District Judge Loretta Preska is as follows: * * * * * The Board's Motion for Summary Judgment is DENIED, and Bloomberg's Motion for Summary Judgment is GRANTED. Specifically: 1. The Board shall produce forwith the Remaining Term Reports within five business days of the date hereof; 2. The Board shall search forthwith records at the FRBNY that constitute "Records of the Board" within the meaning of 12 C.F.R. # 231.2(i)(1); and 3. The parties shall confer following their review of the results of the search and inform the Court by letter no later than September 14, 2009 how they propose to proceed. * * * * * The beneficial outcome means that many more FOIA-based lawsuits against the Federal Reserve will now spring up, and with case law on their side, the outcomes of most will likely be on behalf of the plaintiffs. This could detour any short-circuit attempts by either Congress or Senate to prevent a Fed audit, as it may suddenly not be necessary, now that there is this alternative venue to get various pieces of information, previously not available to the general public. |

Interesting and valuable precedent for the FOIA for sure. What pieces of information do you suspect will be brought to the public eye, proof of what we already suspect (the major corporations that were/are being bailed out being in bed with major political persons/institutions) or something more sinister?

The exposure is a snowball effect. That's why the Fed tried to keep everything hush hush. Once bad practice is proven, the public will demand more and more and the Fed has already proven in NUMEROUS congressional panel investigations that they cannot prove anything.

TheCypressTimes : A FREE TEXAS; AUGUST 29TH TO BE HISTORIC DATE
saw this on the rogan board, thread was titled, 'Texas to Secede on 8.29.09: 1,000,000 signatures' The 29th of August promises to be the turning point in Texas and in the United States. A crowd of Texans plan to descend on the state capitol and demand that Governor Perry and our elected officials either enforce the 10th amendment on the federal government or secede from the union. The big question is if the governor will show up or if the pressing other business he has that day is more important. As of this writing he will not be there to receive the petition being put forth by Gerry Donaldson of drawaline.org. This is going to be one of, if not the most important events in recent Texas history. Gerry has collected a few thousand signatures for this petition for sovereignty or secession. The Texas Nationalist Movement has a reported million signatures on their petition that is just for secession. Our leaders have not paid attention to recent events. The public has been peacefully holding tea parties that have really just been ignored by the rulers of this land. They recently have been getting an angry earful at town hall meetings. The lapdog media has been calling them mobs of GOP operatives and so has the left elitist leaders. Nothing could be farther from the truth. This movement has cut clear across party lines. Citizens of this country are fed up with our elected officials spending us into bankruptcy and disrupting our lives. This has led us to the events planned on the 29th. It is plain that the federal government will not change unless change is forced upon it. Governor Perry needs to get his priorities straight. Texans have had enough being ignored and that is never a good thing. Will he and the legislature push for and enforce Texas sovereignty or will we the People of Texas push secession on them? Will we change the direction this country is heading or will the words "This meeting can do nothing further to save the country." be heard again? |

nice video. good quote: "...We've become so used to weasel-words and double standards, that the truth has become DISTINCTLY unfashionable. Speaking your mind is now seen as virtually antisocial, because some opportunistic crybaby is SURE to take offense and throw a tantrum, and *that* might threaten community cohesion." | |

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.
