I wonder if tuition is really what the faggots are rioting about, or if there is something else going on behind the scenes that is really fueling this fire. University fags are typically from a privileged lot, I can't see them causing this much ruckus over money.

Not really though. DH's point is that university students are generally well-off compared to society's average (they survive without even having to work in many cases for Christ's sake). I wouldn't say college students are poor, I'd say like uneducated minorities are poor. The woman coming over to clean your place while you're at work is poor. College students aren't poor.

Ok. Well in Europe it's much more evenly spread. In Europe college students are poor.

The problem is everybody thinks they are entitled to a college education. Everybody should be entitled to whatever education will be beneficial. What they shouldn't be entitled to is 4 years of wastefulness on somebody who isn't going to use the education. Why should the government pay for everybody to go to college when all that means for most people is a 4 year vaccation with nothing to show for it afterwards?

Take student loans. If you're going to work hard in college and do something with your life you'll be able to pay them off. If you don't then you shouldn't be in college and don't deserve the aid. It's as simple as that.

My point is that college is expensive. Most college students are poor, but they come from privileged families. They have never wanted really for anything, and they don't pay for their education. The few that have no money and are putting themselves through college are the exception not the rule.

There are two commonalities among most university students. They come from wealthy families and activism. This would not be the first time in history when college students have rioted over something but claimed it was for something else.

I was unaware of 'Burning Man' until I moved to hippie Austin and heard people talking about it. It took place this weekend. It seems like it's a huge hippie festival where people gather in the middle of the desert in Nevada and live in a self-sustaining community where no currency is used. People wear expressive costumes and (presumably) do lots of drugs and stuff. They burn some giant effigy on the last night I believe. It seems pretty intriguing. Here are some pics.
