(7)So what exactly is the best show on T.V. right now? One might be thinking of shows such as Southpark, Chapelle's Show, American Idol, CSI, Dora the Explorer, or any of the thousands of reality shows. One might think of these shows, but they would be wrong.

So what exactly is the best show on television? Well that's a good question. While the shows mentioned above are all excellent in their own right, there stands a show that surpasses all of them. That show is The Maury Povich Show. One may be thinking that I am completely full of shit, so let me divulge into some detail as to why this show is the greatest.

1. Maury Povich is a badass. Sure, you may think some skinny, old, white guy is going to be a huge puss, but not Maury, no, not Maury. He's not afraid to tell his guests exactly what he thinks. He tells them when they're in the wrong. He tells the ones who fucked up that they fucked up and he says it forcefully if he wants to.

2. Paternity tests. Lately they've been airing alot of these episodes, and I can't seem to get enough. It's possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen. My favorite parts are when the woman comes out swearing on her soul that the baby is the guy who she brought on the show, and then when he comes out and the results are read and he turns out to not be the father, the people's reactions priceless. Not just the female, who usually ends up running off stage crying because she is so upset and embarassed, but also the guy who starts jumping around all crazy because he is so happy he is not a daddy. The best parternity test shows are when they have a woman who has brought 4 or 5 guys onto the show already and none of them have been the father, so she brings another guy to the show, and he's not the father. Just wonderful to watch.

3. Maury actually cares about helping the people on his show. Either that or he's a really good actor. I'd like to think not though. You can pretty much tell, though, that he really does want to help. I think that's commendable.

4. It's not fake. Unlike the Jerry Springer show, where the shit that happens is so unbelievable that you don't know if it's fake or not, the stuff on Maury Povich is real life.

5. It's cheap to watch. I only have basic cable at my house (which gives me roughly a little over 15 channels) and I can still watch Maury. It only costs $12.00 a month.

6. Did I mention that Maury is a badass? Yeah, he's such a badass. He's probably my hero. I'd like to be just like him one day.

In closing the Maury Povich show is the best show on television. It will make you laugh, get angry, it will make you sad, and it will make you happy. Everyone could use a little Maury Povich in their lives.

Of course not everyone will agree with me, so go ahead and post what you think the best show on T.V. is. (/7)

I'll agree that Maury has a show that doesn't get nearly enough credit. I'll admit that I've spent an afternoon or two watching him care for overweight toddlers...or chase down fleeing "I don't know who my baby's daddy is" bitches. That said...to call Maury Povich's hour on television the best that this magical box has to offer is absolutely crazy.

I'm not going probe all of the candidates for this deeply...but I will tell you that without giving the topic much thought at all, South Park comes to mind as completely kicking Maury's ass in television goodness. Of course, taking into account Maury's ability to offer new shit everyday whilst South Park only offers a new 30 minutes of show about 16 times per year certainly helps Maury's cause. Either way, South Park kicks Maury Povich's ass on many other levels.

But fuck that...that's not why I'm here. I'm here to tell you what is, without a doubt, the best show aired on television. The best show that television has to offer is The Howard Stern Show. There's no fucking contest. Unfortunately, E! Entertainment Television is not offered here in the dorms. This in and of itself is enough to make me claw at my wrists every weeknight at 11:00...and enough to make any trip that I take back home worth the hour and a half drive.

If you like the degradation of women, the mistreatment of homeless people, retards, and other easily attackable groups, as well as general debauchery (in other words: if you're a self-respecting male), you'll have no hesitation in agreeing with me that The Howard Stern Show is the best show on television right now (and perhaps the best show to ever be on television).

I agree wholeheartedly with this. There just isn't enough different, crazy shit being done in the world for a show like Max X to be mentioned in this thread.
