I'm still unclear on why American soldiers were dispatched there in the first place.

Obviously, King George II stepped on his dick. It's been over 6 months and still no weapons of mass destruction.

there is some valid reasons why we should be there and other reasons why we should not be there...

I'm all about being over there. Something needed to be done and it's not like we can just leave now. If we left now, it would be worse than when Saddam was in power. Countries can't function without some sort of central government, which is what we're trying to help them put together.
