I'm a fan so far. John shines and Anthony sounds good on this one. I also like Flea's bass on the bridge. Yep, I like it a lot. I probably love Anthony Keidis.
Is this from their greatest hits album then? It is. Just watched the video. Very cool. They know how to make a good performance-based video. [ November 13, 2003, 09:20 PM: Message edited by: Titan ] |

I'm 99% sure it was just a new song for the greatest hits album.
There was another one on there I didn't recognize either... [ November 13, 2003, 09:28 PM: Message edited by: Titan ] |

Lots of bands seem to be coming out with greatest hits albums lately... No Doubt... REM... I know there are more but I can't think of them...
Has anyone heard "Bad Day" by REM? It's new isn't it? I fucking love it, much more than some of their other recent stuff. It's cool. I saw some little clip on the cover of a magazine that said something to the effect of (quoting REM) "We hate the world," they're not shiney happy people, or something. Being pissed off is awesome, especially being pissed off at the media. Yeah. |

Fortune Faded is pretty good, but the copy I listened to had a bad mix to it. Of course that doesn't degrade the song itself, I was just observing.
Bad Day is pretty pimp. I only heard a clip but I"m a fan. The Eagles and The Steve Miller Band both have recent greatest hits albums. Both will eventually make it to my collection. Oh yes they will. |

Zao is one of those bands making a greatest hits, which is really strange for being a non-mainstream hardcore band.
And being pissed off does rock. But it's more fun at other people than at the media. The media is a pussy about shit like that. |

The other new single on their Greatest Hits is "Save The Population". I actually like it better than Fortune Faded. Both of these songs are a very independant sound when compared to the rest of RHCP's work.
The greatest hits album is awesome, they remixed a few of the songs a bit, I believe Under The Bridge's ending is a bit different, etc. It's quite the album. -Ugly Bastard |

Good, but uninspiring.
Although I am not nearly as large a fan, or as knowledgeable as many of the above posters, I feel as though the Peppers have slowly gone downhill. Either that or I just haven't adjusted to their new sound. I'm still listening to Blood Sugar Sex Magic and One Hot Minute, on a daily basis. Whereas, I rarely ever listen to anything from By The Way. |
