Of course Rudy sucked. Why wouldn't he. Even if anyone could understand him, which noone could, what important would he have to say? Go for your dreams? That's crap. If everyone went for their dreams the world would go to hell, because noone's dream is to clean other people's shit up all day. All I got from the convo was that the most excited he had ever been was when he got 'whitie tighties' with his name on them. The only thing I actually remember from the entire thing was that the bleachers were about ready to colapse. At least that would have gotten me out of that gym.
And what was with the lights? By the time they would come on, he'd be showing another stupid clip from 'his movie' that he called Hollywood everyday for 10 years for. How do you do that? I didn't know you could just call cities and request things like that. "Yes, Havana? Hey it's me. Send me some cubans, I'm running low." I would be saying, "Who the hell is this guy. What do I care if he tackled someone once."
As my good friend sitting next to me said, it would be better to just give every student 5 bucks and say 'go for your dreams.' They could then tell us to either use it to rent the movie, or pocket it.
I guess, in closing, that if anything good did come of this convocation, it would be the fact that we didn't have to participate in school work for one hour, of one day. That is the absolute maximum that anyone would have walken away with.
