I've now completed the entire game, and am most impressed with it. The only problems I had with it at first were that some of the fight scenes tended to drag out a little bit too long and some of the "balancing/platform jumping" parts were a little ridiculous. I basically found that if you use magic way more often than I did, it kills enemies way faster.
As for the platforms, it's not that they were impossible, just annoying as hell. A little lengthy, and if you fell sometimes you had to go back to the beginning and start over. Plus mother fuckas are shooting you while you're doing it so sometimes you'd die without it being your fault. My qualms with this were basically all in the last level though, so no big deal.
Great game says me, the ending was nice.
