He was super wasted.

I think we can all imagine how in our worst moments we might have tried to light a small fire to escape an elevator when we were beyond trashed... so from this perspective it doesn't surprize me that he did it.
So true. While I can't say I'd necessarily light an elevator on fire, I also am very sober right now. We have all done incredibly stupid shit when sober (or just riled up from being rambunctious with our friends), and it just seems incredibly shitty timing/place for this guy, I feel bad for him. I'm sure the high charges will be dropped though, and they'll bring it down to like public intox, destruction of property, endangering property...who knows.

I'm curious, GWB, from that article they make your friend sound like an idiot, which he obviously is not. Even drunk off their ass or hungover, people sober up REAL quick when they know/think they're in trouble. Why do you think he's talking/acting like he is? Some sort of legal plan?

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.
