Essentially bought by Mourinho last year as a power play (he benched the captain and possibly best keeper in the world, Iker Casillas) in his last year at Madrid, Diego Lopez actually earned everybody's respect by playing incredibly well and not taking sides in the struggle.
First thing I notice is that he has great hands; catches a lot of shots others wouldn't, and when he can't catch it he always seems to put the ball out of danger; never gives up bad rebounds.
More willing to take the ball off an attackers feet than most, and better at it. Attacks the ball with his feet, covers goal with his body, a hybrid of the two schools of thought. Some say to dive in hands first when you think you can get the ball, others say to just stay in front of the ball and "stay big" to take away as much of the goal as possible.
