4. Panpsychism is true
5. Mind-body dualism is true
6. It would be unethical to develop
7. We can never be sure it works
8. Uploaded minds would be vulnerable to hacking and abuse



From Are there problems with the metaphor of mind-uploading?

(1) Transhumanists are materialists/physicalists.
(2) Materialists/physicalists do not view the mind as a “thing” that is separate from the human brain.
(3) The transference thesis (and uploading more generally) assumes that the mind is a thing that is separate from the human brain.
(4) Therefore, transhumanists cannot believe in the transference thesis (and uploading more generally).
