if shogun can tko arona in the 1st round, silva can easily do it too. mw title fight will go much differently. silva got taken out of his game, arona made him fight arona's fight. Fedor was able to do the same thing. he's the smartest fighter in mma.

werdum looked slick.

cro cop had a great defensive guard.

nakamura had some nice sub attempts. igor should have tried to stand up more. tank def should have tried harder to stand up.

I feel like Silva use to fight balls out like Shogun but lately has been much more conservative because he's so affraid of losing the belt. But I don't think we can place much in Aronas loss to shogun because Arona had a 15 minute war with silva and Shogun had a 5 minute beat down session with a heartless overeem. I'd like to see the two of them fight fresh.

Don't you think the fact that he's fought two less than agressive opponents in arona and yoshida has contributed to his slow paced matches rather than a loss of heart?

Also I don't see how anybody can hate on Overem right now, hes improving at light speed.

10 min shouldnt make much of a difference when you train as much as those guys and have time to recover.

beebs, if its true that silva's pace has slowed due to his opponents then he deserves to lose. in MMa and even bjj matches the first thing a coach tells you to do is to 'fight your fight' or make your opponent react to YOUR strategy. every match i've ever won was because it went according to what i wanted to do.

silva is getting older...hence slowing down. he's been fighting for a long time.

he's on a downward spiral , trust me.

Tank/Yoshida was the fix..A WORK.... i super slo-mowed yoshidas "sleeve choke"...can you choke someone when they have the chin tucked...NO....the sleeve was on tanks chin, not the neck.

I'm not saying Silva is losing heart, I'm saying he's fighting more carefuly now. When he goes balls out and morphs into ape man in there he leaves himself open a lot of the time which is something I think he tries to avoid against good ground opponets like Arona and Yoshida.

i thought the same thing but he also had tanks arm i there so it was somewhat of a reverse arm triangle. but even if it was he still tapped FAST. he lasted a lot longer when kimo arm triangled him.
