Right. Because the cuts that went into effect on April 1st for over 75% of American households just don't count? (And that's 95% of working households, since retirees and the unemployed won't see the effects of the tax cut)

When the government spends more u can either

1) Tax more now
2) Borrow and tax more later
or
3) Inflate the currency and make everybody pay "inflation tax"

Either way, Obama is increasing taxes.

Income tax rates aren't the biggest issue. They're too high, but that's another argument for another day. First thing is first: lowering the corporate tax rate to keep businesses and jobs from fleeing the country in search of better opportunity.

TBE, if you REALLY think we didn't just get our taxes skyrocketed by these bailouts, then PLEASE let me know where all this money is going to come from. Thin air? Maybe we'll just print some more. Or maybe, just maybe, Obama was right. We cut taxes for most of America (which gives the gov't less money to work with (even though it really didn't)) and then they put together a $1.7 TRILLION spending bill that won't need to be paid for by anybody because it will just come out of thin air.

I've ran into the same argument a lot from liberals lately. They assume anyone anti-Obama/current government must have liked Bush. Pull your head out of the sand. Bush having been a terrible President doesn't give justification to be an equally large idiot in the opposite direction.

I was not pro-W either. I do think he did a lot of good for this country, but he really fucked up a few major things. I'm starting to think that Bush made people anti-republican and Obama is going to make people anti-liberal which looks like finally offering a third option for the American people. One time?!?!

Third party will never win anything significant. Too easy for major two to change their platforms to accommodate the appeal of the third party. (There is still, of course, a lot of value in third parties though).
