DH, sometimes I question if you even live in this universe. Even proclaiming that there is one "central theme", and that it's feminism, shows that you are not absorbing much of what you read. Just because of Daenarys and Arya? Both of whom were basically sold into bondage, and in fear of being raped pretty much everywhere they go if unprotected? Both who receive a MASSIVE amount of help from the men in their lives, without which they pretty much couldn't do anything? Feminist Media Criticism, George R.R. I am only 40% through the book right now, so the tales have not yet run their course.
I'm talking about the struggles of all the women in the book to become rulers of their respective territories. For example, Cersei is trying to become queen of Westeros and sit the Iron Throne. Adrianne is trying to earn her crown as princess of Dorne. Asha is trying to claim her Driftwood Crown and sit the Seastone Chair. Brienne is trying to find Sansa and keep her oath to Lady Catelyn. All of these stories are about women trying to earn their way into power in a world that does not recognize females as fit for ruling anything but a household. In Brienne's case, it's more a point of demonstrating the physical strength of a woman in a world that views them as weak and incapable. If you really can't see the feminist themes in there, read it again. |

Also Gaz can you change the title to "Game of Thrones"? Apparently that's what all the story is going to be now anyways. |

I'm now about 75% done with the third book and it's still pretty awesome. Though, I have started cringing every time I see a chapter about Catelyn because she sucks so bad. Tyrion's chapter's usually have much more awesomeness. That being said, I just got to the part where Robb and Catelyn got murdered at the Edmure's wedding, so hopefully they're really dead, and I'm done with her incessant whining.

Here's the new cast members for season two. Most of the cast seems spot on for their role, but a few seem a bit "off" to me. Most notably casting a British model as the part of Brienne seems way fucked up. Oh well, it will still be an awesome fucking season. This contains no spoilers, but it does give a bit of background on the new characters.

Since we're back on the subject, I'm having a bit of a difficult time getting through A Feast for Crows. Brienne's chapters are awful so I usually put the book down for a while when I come to one. Then I don't really have the motivation to pick it back up because I know I'm going to have to get through that chapter before it gets good again. I recently just let it go about 3 weeks without reading it at all and pretty much forgot what everyone was doing and who most of the new characters were. I'm just now starting to get back into it. I'd say I have about 200-250 pages left. Please tell me the ending gets better so I'll be motivated to buy the last one.

Not enough titties in this episode.
I was anticipating some Daenerys titties, but found none. Also wouldn't mind scoping out some Melisandre titties in the future. As far as casting goes, Melisandre, Stannis, and Davos are perfect. I think they did a great job with that. They make Joffery even more of a cunt in the show than he is in the books. |
