It doesn't really matter that I'm taking the time to type this right now...considering that I had to change the option of "view messages from only 45 days" to "show all topics" in order to see anything...but I find it necessary to push the total post mark over 500...where it has been resting for far too long now.

Along with such a purpose, I can find no better reason for a post than a review of this masterfully crafted collection of audio. The Eminem Show, leaked about a month early by...someone...to the internet piracy public, was legally put out for the consumers on Sunday, May 26 (or Tuesday, May 28, depending on the source that you look at...). Anyway, this isn't important as millions had sampled it's superb sounds weeks prior...me being one of these such people. The first track, where one assumes a Public Service Announcement should exist (coinciding with both the Slim Shady LP and the Marshall Mathers LP), there exists something completely different. Going along with the motif of actually having a show, Eminem taps on a mic a couple of times and then proceeds to ask if it is turned on...quite a week intro in my opinion, but, then again, I didn't steal the cd for the skits. This 29 seconds of wasted time seemlessly goes into a nice little dandy called "White America." This is a good song, no, this is a great song. In a land where 80% of songs produced praise america for everything, Eminem comes out with a track doing the exact opposite...pointing out the great country's flaws. Whilst some may look upon such a balsy maneuver as inappropriate in the wake of 9-11, I see it as simply saying the truth...which is basically all he does, say what others want to in an intelligent manner (with quite a bit of cursing). The chorus of "White America" says it all, where he basically tells the parents of america that there is nothing they can do to stop him from infiltrating their perfect household:

"White America!
I could be one of your kids
White America!
Little Eric looks just like this
White America!
Erica loves my shit
I go to TRL, look how many hugs I get"

Also, he goes on to say:

"Fuck you Ms. Cheney!
Fuck you Tipper Gore!
Fuck you with the freest of speech this divided states of embarassment will allow me to have, Fuck you!"

Of course, in line with his style, he let's us know that his aforementioned thoughts were horsefeathers by saying:

"I'm just kiddin' America, you know I love you..."

All in all, a solid track.

Track 3, a little diddy entitled "Business" has an absolutely stellar intro, and a nice beat as well. The lyrics basically outline how the rap industry falls apart in his absence...

"Quick gotta move fast, gotta perform miracles. Gee willikers, Dre, holy bat syllables
look at all the bullshit that goes on in Gotham when I'm gone. Time to get rid of these rap criminals
So skip to your lou while I do what I do best."

This track fades into "Cleanin' out my closet," a track that is the favorite of many, one that I look highly upon. It goes through and says that he doesn't care what people think of him...it's a more serious track where he shows some feelings about people in his life...his father...kim...hailie...

"I was a baby, maybe I was just a couple of months. My faggot father must have had his panties up in a bunch, cuz he split. I wonder if he even kissed me goodbye. No, I don't on second thought, I just fuckin' wished he would die."

That's power right there. He goes on to explain his constant insulting of his mother:

"Now I would never dis my own mama just to get recognition. Take a second to listen for you think this record is dissin,' But put yourself in my position. Just try to envision witnessin' your Mama poppin' prescription pills in the kitchen, bitchin' that someone's always goin' throuh her purse and shits missin.' Going through public housing systems, victim of Munchausen's syndrome."

It's a wonderful track...onward we go.

Track #5, "Square Dance," is one that's not my favorite, but it's definitely a reasonable track. It basically reviews his feelings on returning to the rap scene... I think my lack of feeling for this track stem from it's country tone. During the chorus he even takes on a hillbilly accent that I'm not too fond of. Lyrically, like all of his work, it's amazing.

Track #6 comes in the form of a skit, "The Kiss," as it is named, goes through him spying on his wife as she kisses another guy...and as he goes and pistol whips the fucker she was kissing. It's actually a solid skit. Even though I'm not a fan of skits, and find them over unnecessary, this one is pretty good.

Soldier is next, Track #7, which comes seamlessly from the previous skit, is a very good song. The favorite of many, it pretty much goes through being "tough" in a tough world...

"I'm a soldier, these shoulders hold up so much, they won't budge, I'll never fall or fold up/I'm a soldier, Even if my collar bones crush or crumble, I will never slip or stumble/I'm a soldier, These shoulders hold up so much, they won't budge, I'll never fall or fold up/I'm a soldier, Even if my collar bones crush or crumble, I will never stumble"

An absolutely great line is found in this song:

"I love pissin' you off, it gets me off, like my lawyers, when the fuckin' judge lets me off"

Basically, as in many of his other tracks, he's saying "fuck you, i'll do whatever I want and you can't do jack shit about it," a statement that I am fond of.

Next is "Say Goodbye to Hollywood," one of my least favorite songs on the cd. Not that it's a bad song, it's just not up to par with the rest in my opinion. He basically says that he wishes he never rapped because even though he's rich as fuck, he'd rather have privacy...that's about it.

Track 11 is "Drips." He begins it by questioning Moby's sexuality, a very valid query. It's basically about fucking chicks...

"That's why I ain't got no time. For these games and stupid tricks
Or these bitches on my dick. That's how dudes be getting sick
That's how dicks be getting drips. Falling victims to this shit
From these bitches on our dicks, fucking chickens with no ribs
That's why I ain't got no time..."

Not my favorite track mostly because it's Obie Trice rapping for most of the time...and I didn't download this cd to listen to Obie...so yeah. It's still good shit though.

Track 10 = Without Me. Of course, you are undoubtedly familiar with this song, so I find no reason to delve into it deeply, if at all. I would say, without a doubt, the beat of this song is the most energizing on the cd...it makes me want to fight, which is good, or maybe just run around or something. It's great. Of course, you've heard it many a'time on trl/radio/sexland so I'll skip the lyric discussion.

Track 11 is a skit...a skit that is...alright. "Paul Rosenberg" basically has paul telling eminem not to shoot his gun like a fucko....not necessary.

Track 12, "Sing for the Moment" is a track that I am very fond of (even though others have expressed a distaste for it). I am quite pleased with the beat of this song, as it takes on the sound of an older tune (dunno what one...but I certainly recognize it). That's irrelevent, I like it. Lyrics basically he says why he sings. It's a goodtime.

Thirteen, "Superman," is an absolutely amazing track. Beatwise, it's great. Lyrically, it's spectacular. He basically degrades women to the point of being purely possessions for sex, nothing more. The chorus has him in a situation, trying to win a girl over, and then saying that she "makes him earl." What the fuck is earl? I don't know, but it's probably bad. While I, of course, don't agree with degrading women to the point of being fuck objects, the way that he says this kinda is directed at sluts the only come on to him b/c he's a famous rapper, which is alright in my book.

"But I do know one thing though, bitches, they come they go. Saturday through Sunday, Monday, Monday through Sunday yo/Maybe I'll love you one day, maybe we'll someday grow, till then just sit your drunk ass on that fuckin' runway ho"

Next we have Track 15, Hailie's Song. This is a track that I predict will be his next radio release. The lyrics in this really show how much he cares for his little girl (and hates that bitch kim). He actually sings...like...yeah, he sings. He says he can't sing in the beginning...then says "I told you I couldn't sing" at the end...even though he sings rather well, for what I expected at least. It's also nice how he slowly changes from singing to violently screaming "I'm crazy, oh so crazy"...it's good.

"Sometimes I think I'm crazy. I'm crazy, oh so crazy. Why am I here? Am I just wasting my time
But then I see my baby, suddenly I'm not crazy. It all makes sense when I look into her eyes"

Track 16 is another fucking skit, but this one is dumb as hell. He goes into Steve Berman's office (who belittles his shit on the other two cd's)...eminem shoot him...and he says it's a great album. It's dumb, and definitely something that I don't want to hear after the first time at all...

Track 17 is "When the Music Stops." It chronicles the results of his songs. I dunno, it's alright I guess, I don't really like it though. I do, however, like Bizarre's verse at the end...it's good stuff.

Track 18 is "Say What You Say." It's main purpose seems to be to let Dre make fun of Jermaine Dupri...which makes it a good song. It's actually pretty funny, but still not a great track.

"I'm a giant, and I ain't gotta move
till I'm provoked, when I see you, I'ma step on you and not even know it
you midget, mini-me with a bunch of mini-yous, runnin' round your backyard swimmin' pools
over eighty million records sold, and I ain't have to do it with ten or eleven year olds"

Track 18 "Till I Collapse." Basically it's about him saying that he won't give up on shit...saying that:

"Till the roof comes off, till the lights go out,
till my legs give out, can't shut my mouth
Till the smoke clears out and my high burns out,
I'ma rip this shit till my bones collapse."

Track 19 is, in my opinion, the best track on the cd without a doubt. "My dad's gone crazy" has Hailie in it...saying "My dad's gone crazy" as well as a few other one liners. Her little kid voice is quite a bit of spice to the otherwise his otherwise caustic lyrics. Damn, I cannot get over how amazing this track is. I really don't know how to...I don't know how to explain it's charm. Here is a quote...:

"There's no mountain I can't climb, there's no tower too high, no plane that I can't learn how to fly"

fuck, that's amazing shit, this song is in the style of the slim shady lp...more:

"So tell Laura and her husband to back off before I push this muthafuckin' button and blast off and launch one at these Russians and that's all
blow every fuckin' thing except Afghanistan on the map off."

and, last but not least, the best lyrics on the whole cd, in my opinion:

"It's like my mother always told me, rana rana rana rana rana rana rana rana rana rana and codeine
and goddammit you little muthafucker if you ain't got nuthin' nice to say then don't say nuthin'...
uh, fuck that shit bitch eat a muthafuckin' dick, chew on a prick and lick a million muthafuckin' cocks per second
I'd rather put out a muthafuckin' gospel record
I'd rather be a pussy whipped bitch, eat pussy, and have pussy lips glued to my face with a clit ring in my nose"

That text does not do it justice...you must get this song and actually listen to it...it's seriosuly amazing.

20 = last track = curtains closing and a funny guy doing his own rendition of "without me." A skit worth listening too, it's actually really good.

In closing, the cd is great...but not his best. In fact, Slim Shady LP was easily better in my opinion. I would put this on the same level as the Mather's LP...definietly a rating to be proud of as that cd was amazing. To say that it's not as good as the Slim Shady LP is like saying that my penis is smaller than an elephant's...it's kind of assumed. In any way, if you don't own this cd already, you must MUST get it immediately. What's that? You don't know where to get it? For a limited time only, $3 is all that a copy will cost you if you contact me...

Thank you and god bless.
