Firefly the TV show was a steaming pile of shit ... the movie took the characters and did with them what the show failed to do for an entire season: make them matter. Unfortunately it took making a movie to make the show somewhat redeemable ... but they didn't do that until the show was canceled.
The good news is that the guy who played the captain is trying to buy the rights for the show so he can make it again. |

I like watching media a lot..
I decided to check out the WIRE and see what the hype is about. to be honest, I'm not seeing it. ...but I don't really like cop shows in general..i was hoping this was more. I'm about 6 episodes in...and tbh, just not seeing what the hype is all about. I think Dexter is a lot better than this... and even Ice Pilots..which is my new found gem. |

Finished watching season one of The Wire..
def wouldnt go as far as to say it's the best show i've ever seen... ..possibly best 'cop' show (but if you include Dexter, I like that quite a bit more) Currently shows that are 'live' ... I'm watching 'Camelot' and 'Game of Thrones' ...Game of Thrones some of you may like...prob has some good reviews for it..and its by HBO. I personally think Camelot is pretty well put together too... I like that genre of TV though. Legend of the Seeker--another great series thats relatively new (two seasons..and same genre...i guess).. ..def can be very cheesy at points--but it seems like it was made that way on purpose...so it seems cool (at least to me). Will for sure continue watching the Wire when I have nothing else. I'm glad I've got that...because I was looking for something. Recently went through the Spartacus series too. Watched the prequel first (didn't know about the first season).. ..then watched the first season of it. ...also think it was pretty decent. another random show for comedy..that I thought I'd check out...and I've liked it enough to watch about 7 episodes ... is Modern Family ..its a comedy..and it doesn't really necessarily make me laugh out loud..but its funny, and goes quick.. |

Finished season 3 of True Blood. Overall, it was awesome and probably my favorite season thus far. I was a little surprised that show's creators put what seems to be an irreversible end to the Bill and Sookie romance. I also like that we finally know that Sookie is a fairy. She is the most insufferable character on the show for me (and it's not close), but I def dig the fairyness a lot.
Other random thoughts: - I'm glad Eric isn't dead, it was crazy that Bill tried to kill him! - The whole witch thing will be an interesting storyline next season I think. - I'll also be curious to see what they do with one of my favorite characters, Tara, after she left Bon Tomps (and incredibly understandably so, the girl went through a lot!) Finally, I can't help but feeling like a faggot with how much I like this show. |

True, it's a tough call between the two of them. All either of them does is bitch about everything. "oohhhh I was raped" "ohhhh Bill cheated on me with his vampire ex" "ohhhh i'm a fairy and have awesome powers but i'm so depressed because I don't know what I am"
Bitches. |

As you watch that f3lix, keep in mind that many people call season two The Wire's low point. Personally, I liked it a lot. But there's a chance you might look back at season two and call it your least favorite. Think about that while you're watching it in awe. It's a testament to what a great show it is.

I'm not usually one for watching new shows, but I saw the first episode of True Blood the other day. Not sure what to think so far. I'll probably check out another couple episodes.

I fuckin' love HBO, man. I thought there wouldn't be any good tv shows out this summer, but HBO has new seasons of True Blood, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Entourage (the final season). Should be pretty sweet. They start June 26th , July 10th, and July 24th, respectively.
