Anybody want to give me 18:1 on Senegal to win the men's football Gold at the 2012 Olympics? Offer not valid once 3rd game of Group stage starts. I'd like to bet $10 on it. Senegal to not win the Gold is -2500 on Pinnacle.

I'm watching a tape-delayed broadcast of Senegal-UAE which might have determined Senegal's birth or exclusion from the elimination round of the Olympics. I googled Senegal to see exactly where it was and the first result... a news release that Senegal ties UAE 1-1... This spoiler shit is so infuriating. Yesterday, I avoided Yahoo all day so I could enjoy not knowing HOW somebody or a team won (Yahoo has been announcing details of races while claiming the "spoiler" is knowing who won) and at the bottom of the Yahoo page, which I thought was safe from all that shit was the announcement of both Phelps taking his 19th medal and Gold for Women's Gymnastics.

Why is it so damn hard to use the internet without having results broadcast to you?

In the meantime, only one team made the quarters with a loss - Egypt, which lost to Brazil.

Senegal is on the opposite side of the bracket as Brazil, allowing Brazil to be upset before they'd meet (possibly by host GB, of which Senegal completely outplayed in the 2nd half of their match.)

Senegal is in fantastic shape and is fast as hell, especially in the second half. They are now 12:1 on bovada (5th favorite and play 9:1 Mexico in the Quarters)

2nd favorite is GB. Obvious dream scenario is GB vs. Senegal.

You have to completely avoid the internet, any live TV, social networking sites, and asshole friends if hope to have any chance avoiding Olympic spoilers.

Side note: Brazil looked incredible against NZ earlier. They also played amazingly.

Brazil will totally pull down GBs pants, it would be a slaughter. The Brazil team is almost the same team that will play in the world cup, and take it incredibly serious because it's the only tournament they haven't won. GB isn't even a real team and maybe 3 players might be at the next world cup.

+1 on spoilers. This Olympics has been terribly disappointing in that regard. I sit at home all god damned day with the Olympics on TV and see nothing but the horseshit sports that I never knew existed. Meanwhile, records are being set behind the scenes, fed to us through Social Media, and then rebroadcast hours later. It is as god damned idiotic as anything in recent memory.

Why not display the good shit live, and then also on a tape delay it for the fuckers that want to wait to see it during primetime? This is the Olympics, for fuck sake. I don't want to watch a shitty internet feed or watch predetermined sports. Christ.

Beebs, I agree team GB isn't anything special. I can just hope for an off game from Brazil against the home squad looking for an upset. Honestly, I haven't seen Brazil play and I do recognize the insanity of their odds being -200 to win it all at this point.

Set up your Google reader feed. You can get as specific or as general as you want in your criteria and sample news articles from the entire internet.

I think Mexico will beat Senegal. Gio Dos Santos is a game changer. If Mexico don't, Egypt could, they always do well in youth tournaments, especially against African teams.

It's close, but I'd want just a little better value
