Default Repug's NBA playoff preview (round 1)

The West:
Spurs (1) vs Kings (8)
A very Intriguing matchup because this isn't the same Spurs team of last year. This is a Spurs team who has been troubled by injuries. Ginobili isn't the same as last year, nor is Duncan who is having serious foot issues. Parker has carried this team. And despite the depth of their bench I feel Finely and Van Exel just aren't what they're hyped to be. Sure, they won over 60 games this season, and they're a great team, but make no mistake...This is a series that can be a potential upset. I believe the Kings are better than their record says because they tanked the first part of the season. Why? No Artest. Since he's come into the lineup they're like 25-10. They match up well with the Spurs and are hungry. I'm tempted to say the Kings in 7, but I just can't. I say the Spurs in 6. But I do believe the Kings will make a series of it, and it should be quite entertaining.

Suns (2) vs Lakers (7)
Another series with the potential for upset. Kobe is balling out of his friggin mind right now, and as long as the Lakers can keep games close and give Kobe a chance to shine in the 4th they'll always have a chance. The Suns do however boast a 3-1 series lead over them in the regular season. The Lakers, in order to win this series, need to slow the game down, pound it inside and crash the offensive boards...They aren't very good at that stuff. The Suns just need to be the Suns and run run run! I see this being a 5 or 6 game series with the Suns just having too much fire power for the Lakers; however, let me say that this Lakers team is going to be very dangerous in the next few years. As they mature and build around Kobe I see them competing for the title in a couple of years. Watch out.

Denver (3) vs Clippers (6)
A very close match up. I give the Clippers a slight edge in being the favorite, because I think they are a better all around team than Denver. Denver has been plagued by injuries and unless Carmelo puts up 25/10/5 every night I don't see them winning. Clippers in 6.

Dallers (4) vs Memphis (5)
Close, but not really. The Mavs should overwhelm this team, especially since Pau Gasol is hurt. I give the Grizzlies 1 game, maybe 2 if the litter general doesn't light a fire under the Mav's collective asses.

The East:
Pistons (1) vs Bucks (8)
Are you kidding me? Pistons sweep the Bucks, and that's all there is to it.

Miami (2) vs Chicago (7)
An interesting matchup, only because the Bulls are so gritty, a reflection of their coach Scott Skiles. While I pick Miami to win the series the Bulls should make it fun. I say Miami in 5, maybe 6, depending on the king of urgency they play with. Watch out for Wade to explode with 40 point games all over the place.

Nets (3) vs Pacers (6)
A very, very interesting matchup. Pacers won the season series, but then the Nets went crazy and won 17 of their last 20. Still though, Indian is a experienced team with a lot of grit. They're going to give New Jersey all they can handle. I'm playing it safe and picking the Nets in 6 or 7, but Indiana could very well steal this series.

Cleveland (4) vs Wizards (5)
This, along with the Nets vs Pacers is the match up that could go either way. Lebron is playing like an MVP right now, but the Wizards seem to have the Cavs number. Arenas and Lebron are going to get their numbers,I think the X factor in this series is going to be Larry Hughes. If he can shake off the rust and play like an all star I pick the Cavs in 7. If not than the Wizards in 7. Either way it's going to be a great matchup.

Stay tuned for Repug's second round breakdown!

I'm kind of excited to see the Clippers back in the playoffs again. In a dream world, the Cavs and Clippers will play a 7-game-long NBA Finals that will go down as the best ever. Here's hoping...

My prediction? The playoffs last an entire year this time, honestly, could they draw this fucking thing out any longer?

Not particuarly, and not enough to get the joke/insult your trying to make here0, but I'll watch some games and the playoffs. I'll watch the last couple of NBA series' but tell me the NBA playoffs aren't too long.
