Alright. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bitch. But honestly, the fair is terrible this year. I have talked to other people who I saw at the fair and they agreed with me. There are not very many rides, not nearly as many food stands, not as many games, basically, it's pretty empty. Now, I'm not saying it's not worth the time of going, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go. I was disappointed with the smallness of the fair. I did have a good time hanging out with friends, and we did manage to get a free ride on the tilt-a-whirl, but the fair itself was nothing too exciting.

I also noticed the lack of usual rides and games
i spent quite a while walking around with some friends, and while i did enjoy listening to Ugly Bastard try to get free stuff from the carnies, the fair in general just didn't seem as "fair-like" as it usually does. Sure you have the disgusting carnies and the greasy food but it really was lacking this year |

However dismal the fair may seem, you can always depend on those visiting the fair to keep things somewhat interesting. Tonight, I observed a young mexican girl being arrested for fighting. But the fun didn't stop there. I also observed a shirtless gentleman with a swastika tattoo on his chest as well as the words "white power" tattooed on his arm. This man was visiting the fair with his family which included a few children and a heavily tattooed wife.

i also saw both of those, I did a double take on the swastika guy :]
i also had a carnie tell me he'd be my boyfriend... he said he'd give me his trailor and take me out on the road if i'd just play his dart throwing game... *side note, the only reason he did this is because someone denied being with me just so he wouldn't have to play the game... scary carnies! |

As for the fair, sure, it sucked; but what else are ya gonna do in Warsaw on a Monday night? I can't attest to whether or not it is smaller this year, because I've never paid attention in the past to know if it seems smaller this year. Do I recommend going to the fair? Well, weigh your options, and if they're looking bleek, then why the hell not? -Ugly Bastard [ July 22, 2003, 07:13 AM: Message edited by: Ugly Bastard ]

Warsaw fair was very lame this year, but what do you expect?
I definitely agree with Victim, Elkhart Fair is the way to go. But, if you don't want to make the drive, and you have nothing else to do, Warsaw fair is good to just walk around with friends. "even though you could do that for free, and not worry about nasty carnies hitting on you" |

according to the map, we've only got about 4 more inches to go

I don't really like the fair but I do enjoy that everyone from warsaw comes out at least once a week, so I get to see a lot of people that I promised I would call over the summer (and vice versa) but was just to damn lazy.

so i went to the fair again tonight with my mom, and as we were walking around we saw an ambulance and a huge crowd of people around. we didn't stop but i heard someone say something about a fight, and there was someone laying on the ground, though i think he stood up and was walking around afterwards...

That was me and im not alright, I am sad to announce that my left arm has been amputated, and also that it has taken me three times longer to type this reply.
So yes, the fair was crappy this year, as it is most years. But there's nothing better to do. |

Went to Elkhart County Fair tonight with some friends. Amazing. It's infinately better than our fair. Lots of rides, lots of good food, plenty of carnies, and many, many hot girls. Go now.

I worked the dunk tank tonight for young tiger football...after walking around to get some food it was about the best thing they had to offer....man we were giving some nasty gestures as we made fun of people as they worked...it was fun...but that will be the only reason i ever go to the fair...
