I don't know what my parents were thinking.
They gave me a somewhat common name... that's ok... but they more or less made up the motherfucking spelling of it. They say they merged together the names of a couple of my uncles... that's bullshit. So, I'm left with a bizarre quasi-phonetic spelling of a first name that nobody EVER gets right off the back. (Interestingly though, the name is shared by an ancient persian gold coin, and was ripped off and used by the old ISTEP memory tests as the imaginary word for gold coin... damn standardized testing) Then, making it worse, the only people I know with the same name (each one with different spellings of course)
are all stupid jackasses, and when I get stuck having classes with them, I seem to lose all rights to my name because they never shut the fuck up. I'll hear my name, and know nobody is talking to me... fuckers.
As for my middle name, in stark contrast to my first... it's highly unoriginal.
Allen.
It's my dad's middle name. It's his dad's middle name. It just so happens to be my next door neighbor's fucking middle name. Yeah. I still actually like it though, and I tempted to start using it in the future.
Then, my last name encapsulates both by being somewhat common, but having all sorts of different (wrong) ways of spelling it. Like with an "i", or with "ch", or with a "ie"... IT'S A "Y", DAMN IT.
Erm... yeah.
