Kazaa announced earlier that it would sue the RIAA and other entertainment companies for copyright infringment. Wait did I hear that right? They are suing for exactly what they are being sued for, wtf? Well as many of you may know the RIAA had started to track down individual users who were sharing files. They cannot track anyone by using Kazaa since that is in direct violation of the end-user agreement, so instead they used Kazaa Lite (the ad free version)to track the file-sharers and obtain their ip address, name, etc, etc. However there is one small problem with this Kazaa Lite is a hacked version of Kazaa, and therefore is illegal, and that just so happens to be a direct violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act Violation. Those hypocritical bastards. Things are looking good right now for file sharing users, if this goes through and Kazaa wins the lawsuit, there isnt much hope for entertainment companies to stop file sharing. This puts a big smile on my face.
