A.) We normally do yell at the dog for jumping at the cat for no reason. The cat is a prick, though. He was before the dog showed up and he certainly is now. Because of this, he needs to be taken down a peg or two now and then. Beating the cat with my hands is animal cruelty. Letting the dog piss him off is a satisfying-enough alternative.
B.) His options are being declawed in the front or not having a home. And he's far from defenseless. Take a look at BT's arm if you think that's the case (which also answers DD's question...she did get gashed up like normal).
C.) The dog annoys him, but doesn't hurt him. He jumps without biting. This is simply forcing the stuck-up older brother to hang out with the annoying younger brother. Sure, we all know he's not having fun...but the family must hang out with one another if it plans on being a successful unit going forward. We're simply acclimating the son of a bitch with a taste of what the rest of his life is going to be like.
