For the longest time I found myself making a sort of mental escape/defense plan in the event of a zombie outbreak. I made such plans at home, at school, and at work. Any place at which I was going to spend a decent amount of time, I planned for it. Plans include safe entrances and exits, viable weapons, get-away vehicles, and people I would stick with or avoid.
For example, the building where I work would not be very suitable for long term defense. It would suffice for a few days at most. Then I would likely take a work vehicle instead of my car. I'd have the choice of a few vans, a box truck, and a pick-up. I'd most likely go with the pick-up. I could go off-road if I had to and it also has a larger gas tank than my car. For self-defense I have a tire iron and a hefty metal pipe. The tire iron is somewhat sharp at one end. If I were 1-on-1 with a zombie that I had to fight, I'd probably attempt a strike with the heavy pipe to throw it off balance, then go in for the kill, jamming the sharp end of the tire iron into the skull of the offending zombie.
I even have the food and water worked out. There are large, clean, plastic containers that I could fill with water. Regarding food, there are 3 large freezers filled mostly with food that, once thawed, would be fine to eat and would keep for a few days after the fact.
Anyone else do this, or should I write a shitty script for a zombie movie?
