Thekremlin and DJFC's Work music thread

We just got bigass speakers for our desk, which you would think is an awesome thing, and it is. But now we have this massive responsibility to always play awesome music and entertain the rest of the office. It's very stressful. We're not very concerned about when the porteuguese guy bitches when we play anything that isn't playing on the radio. That's OK. But we do feel pressure because there are some people who are appreciative when we play good music, and dissapointed when we play lame music. As in, dissapointed in us, personally, as if we let them down. This morning was country music thursday, but since this is England, we didn't want to overload anyone so it was mostly Johnny Cash. Next thursday we will ease them in with some Garth Brooks and Kenny Chesney, I love that shit. Tomorrow, though, we want to be Guitar Solo Friday, so if possible, Nubblites, I need about 11 hours worth of face-melting guitar tracks. By tomorrow pls.

And yet they try and take your bonuses! Those bastards.

I downloaded this torrent awhile back. It makes me hard from time to time:

VA - 100 Greatest Rock Guitar Solos (2008) » Free Full Downloads, Rapidshare, Hotfile, Megaupload with Crack, Serial, Keygen, Game, Movie - Flmsdown

If nothing else, you can use it to give you ideas.

Work smarter - not harder.

DJ FC 07-15-2010 12:39 PM

Today we made it from 500 to 400 on the Rolling Stone list of greatest songs.

Good advice, but I take it you're not working 70-80 hour workweeks anymore.

More like 60.

Mr. Blonde 07-16-2010 04:05 AM

Seems like harder IMO, even with the ridiculous amount of money you're making. Couldn't you work like half the hours and still make a shitload of money? Or is the endgame of early retirement that appealing?

thekremlin 07-16-2010 04:57 AM

Who works 30 hours a week???

Mr. Blonde 07-16-2010 04:57 AM

<--------

Technically, i only "teach" 26.5, although i'm there for the full 40 at my new contract. Mostly breaks or doing nothing.

If you work half as much you will earn 10% as much. You need to be here when the markets are open.

Plus it's fun.

Mr. Blonde 07-16-2010 05:19 AM

That makes sense. If nothing else glad to hear things are looking up.

On point: How far is the range of the speakers? Are you guys worrying about upsetting fellow office workers if your music does not scratch their fancy? Is there a possibility of a speaker war?

thekremlin 07-16-2010 05:21 AM

If there was a speaker war we would win it. Easily. Unless they did some guerrila shit like hiding tiny speakers everywhere to turn it into a long, drawn out conflict. But we have the firepower.

I bought these which CNET rates as the best computer speakers: http://reviews.cnet.com/pc-speakers/...in;contentBody

I got them in the Bamboo finish:

this is all new to me, only having worked in traditional office jobs. management doesn't have a problem with it? phonecall (if any?) interference? if the movies have told me anything, it's that you guys should constantly be shouting 'BUY BUY!! SELL SELL!" into your cellphones or something.

thekremlin 07-16-2010 05:57 AM

In all those movies, there was a pumping soundtrack in the background, no?
