Seems to already have been removed. Regardless of what it was, I didn't need to see it to be good on attending NASCAR or any other racing events. I've been to one or two and they're soooooo boring. Drag races are okay. And I think the Indy 500 is kind of an exception based on what I've heard from you guys.
Edit: I post slow. |

I've been to Indy 500 for over 20 straight years and am only left disappointed when weather gets in the way. NASCAR and Formula 1 at the Speedway both sucked.
Just remember that if 20 of 180,000 people get hurt, in 1 of 40 races in a year, in 1 of 10 years... I think the odds are still in the fans' favor. |

I got the oppurtunity to go to the Nationwide race at IRP 2 years ago and stand in the infield. Anyone who has been there, knows there was about a 4 foot wall that seperated me from the cars that were 15 feet away. It was probably one of the top 5 events I've ever been to. Being that close to all that power.
Having said that, it was a freak accident that happens occasionally in racing. I know a tire flew up during the Indy 500 a few years back, and some debris went into the crowd after a Carl Edwards wreck at Talledega a few years ago. If they want to assure this of not happening again, take the restrictor plates off on these super speedways. When you have 25 cars on the lead lap, within a second a half of each other, this kind of wreck is going to continue to happen at the end. The drivers take the risk by being a driver, the fans don't by buying a ticket. |
