Pearl Jam seems to have gotten a little folksy with age. I like it though:

I don't know about you, but my first impression is this song is a couple of minor adjustments from being absolutely incredible. Its kinda frustrating knowing that its so close yet so far from being awesome.

Fruitacious B 03-25-2010 08:40 PM

It's no surprise that they're getting folksier, Eddie Vedder's solo work is folksy as hell, not to mention incredible.

The Bonesetters is a band out of Muncie that is very good, for those of you into folksy, indie-type stuff.

You can download their Family Tree EP for free, or just use the first link to listen to them on myspace.

Mr. Blonde 04-06-2010 05:24 PM

Just recently came across these DJs, The Hood Internet. Pretty much they just remix a bunch of cool shit, like indie songs with rap music. Very good stuff, if you ever throw a party just throw on their playlist. There are tons of songs they did, this is just one that i'm listening to right now (UB, you might like this):

Here's another one they remixed Lil Wayne with Royskopp:

I download a couple playlists a month regularly, this one came on a few days ago and it really struck me as unique. I love this god damn song. I've played it probably over a hundred times in the past couple days, and that doesn't happen often. You should check it out. The video is... okay, but I would suggest just minimizing it and chilling out. It's what I think an indie slowjam would sound like. Plus they're Swedish, so blah blah blah Scandinavian music generally kicks ass.

ninjaface 04-14-2010 07:25 PM

I may have posted these guys before, but they have some kick ass songs. Melodic and energetic.

This is a link to their myspace for some higher quality audio.

Other songs to check out:

Living in the shadows
Nothing to lose

Ugly Bastard 04-16-2010 12:04 AM

Love this song. Love this group (LMFAO).

Fruitacious B 04-19-2010 02:27 AM

The Pines. Folksy chillin' music. Fans of Fleet Foxes/Iron and Wine and good music will like them.

Mr. Blonde 04-21-2010 11:12 PM

this song is very sad.

Fruitacious B 04-23-2010 09:12 PM

Play this loud.

Fruitacious B 04-27-2010 12:02 PM

One of my favorite songs of all time.

malibu 04-27-2010 10:18 PM

In addition to the songs ninjaface mentioned, this is one of my favorites by Billy Talent

Also, another great band to check out, although the unedited version of this song is much better

Other good songs by Pepper:
Stone Love, Too Much, B.O.O.T.

And if any of them are reposts, give me a break, I wasn't about to sift through 115 pages of songs to double check.

Fruitacious B 04-28-2010 12:11 AM

I wouldn't worry about whether or not it's a repost. I doubt very many people actually listen to any of what's submitted in here these days.

Mr. Blonde 04-28-2010 12:16 AM

I listen to everything in here, and I'm fairly sure I posted it, or maybe would I had I been a member of Nubblies in 2002. Either way, it's long enough to be reminded of a pretty good song, and Kona Town was a pretty good album. (although I suggest Malibu check out their other ones, as all the songs she listed are from one album.

If you get a chance to see them live, do it. They put on a great show.

Ugly Bastard 05-03-2010 04:59 PM

Love this song. It's got "new gay Nubblies theme song" written all over it.

Mr. Blonde 05-03-2010 06:42 PM

Without even listening to it, "Eenie Meenie - (feat. Justin Bieber)" is pretty hilarious.

SittinOnDubsWGW 05-04-2010 10:49 PM

beat is SICK.

Fruitacious B 05-07-2010 10:51 AM

This is a friend of mine's band out of Muncie. They are a good band. They have free music you can download, and also a myspace if you'd rather have immediate gratification and just listen.

Nas + Damian Marley. This is the first song on the album and I'm already hard. I can't imagine any other the others are this good, but by god I'm going to find out.

Ugly Bastard 05-22-2010 11:42 PM

Like this song.

I just heard about this band..do you have any of their albums?

Fruitacious B 06-07-2010 12:24 AM

All they've really got right now is an EP, but yes, I have it.

zebrazebrazebraSHAFT 06-10-2010 11:15 PM

How do you feel about sites like filevo.com?

Sketchy. If you're in the Warsaw area, you'd be better off listening to their myspace until you can get a copy of your own. I'd rather not P2P good local music, no offense, but they deserve the profit.

fair enough, but don't underestimate the economic importance of P2P to the indie music scene, I've bought a lot of music thanks to the system.

Fruitacious B 06-11-2010 11:21 AM

Agreed. I use filesharing to sift through the crap so that I know what's worth buying. I just wouldn't feel right about it in this specific circumstance.
