Powderfinger - Over My Head
It's very short, 1:36, but it's very, very good. |
Download of the Day: Powderfinger-The Metre (may be known as "Saving Grace")
I like Powderfinger...I'd like to take this time to thank tonguegina (there were a lot of T's in a row there), for introducing me to them. -Ugly Bastard |
The Eels - Novocaine For The Soul
I've recently really been getting into the Eels, and this is one of their more recognizable songs. |
Download of the Day: Bush-Comedown
I was just listening to this song now. I like it......a lot. -Ugly Bastard |
The Streets The Irony of It All

quote:
Originally posted by Titan: This one is a weed-smoker and a heavy drinker arguing back and forth about which is more dangerous, it's fuckin' great.

[This message has been edited by Titan (edited February 03, 2003).] |
Pavement- Stereo
Pavement has alot of similarities to Cake. Or should I say that Cake has alot of similarities to Pavement, just cause Pavement predecessed Cake. This is one of their songs that is my favorite. Stephen Malkmus (the singer) basically talks/chants the lyrics, but the chorus is just incredibly energetic and gets you pumped. Good stuff. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be recommending it to ya, now would I? |
Download of the Day: Coldplay-Rush of Blood to the Head

Koosheen Empty Skies
Combat Chuck especially, you will love this. Damn, Chuck, download "Catch", "Pride", "Let Go" and "Gone" too. [This message has been edited by Titan (edited February 04, 2003).] |
Will do.
The Beta Band - Dry The Rain These guys hail from Scotland, but damn, they don't sound Scottish one bit. The cool thing about this song is that it incorporates a shitload of styles, even country a bit. Which is weird for me, since country usually makes me shudder, but the sounds and methods in this song are amazing. It's soooo catchy too. Check it out. |
Download of the Day: Foo Fighters-Times Like These
A really really good rock song. Very pure rock here. -Ugly Bastard |
Download of the Day: Eminem-The Way I Am
-Ugly Bastard |
Download of the Day: Paul Simon-Something So Right
I believe that Titan has already recommended this at one point or another. At that point in time, I downloaded the song.....and I love it, so I'm just posting it here to re-iterate. Download the cuntfox. -Ugly Bastard |
Just so that UB isn't the only one posting in this thread right now, I'll pull something out here.
Ryan Adams - Nobody Girl Ryan Adams is fast becoming one of my fave solo artists, just cause he embodies a fun sound with expert musicianship. This is a 9:00 long song, and it starts out a little slow and repetitive, but the jam at the end all but makes up for it all. Check this one out. |
This is one quite good song that I have just discovered...
Ben Harper - Walk Away [This message has been edited by rla128 (edited February 09, 2003).] [This message has been edited by rla128 (edited February 12, 2003).] |

Radiohead - Airbag
The first song off of the their most popular album OK Computer and one of my favorite tracks. |
Download of the Day: Radiohead-Fake Plastic Trees
Maybe the prettiest, most progressive rock song of the 90's -Ugly Bastard |
Queens of the Stone Age No One Knows
Yeah I used to hate this song. I didn't get it, it didn't fit with the "Bringing Back Rock" title that MTV had given the band. Once I got past the fact that it had nothing to do with bringing back rock, but instead, taking a mutated form of it somewhere else, I realized how much there was to the song and how good it is. I'm thinking their album (what I have so far) is going to end up being a lot like The Strokes, very good and catchy at first, but won't be in your CD a year from now due to the repetitive nature. Download of the Day: Radiohead-Karma Police
Sorry for recommending a few Radiohead songs in a row here....but I think it's safe to say that I'm into their shit. -Ugly Bastard |
Elliot Smith - Needle in the Hay
This is one very good song that I discovered from the movie The Royal Tennenbaums, which is also quite the good movie. |
Download of the Day: Stroke 9-Letters
EVERYONE DOWNLOAD THIS SONG! It's catchy as hell, and it's very multi-genred. Something for everyone....punk/rock/pop, whatever. Great song. -Ugly Bastard |
