A 10 Year contract i about shit myself when i saw the news. 10 year contracts are unheard of, its double the typical 5 year extension. The only other coach that has a 10 year contract is Mack Brown, and he has already proved himself in the realm of
college football. Like BDH said, aside from USC and MSU whom ND both lost to, they dont play anyone with any credibility.
Ignoring the "race" issue think of everything Charlie has yet to prove, and what
these coaches already have, how can you possibliy justify it? You simply can't unless he starts to win on a level consistent with Pete Carroll, Bob Stoops, and Mack Brown.
Edit: On a sidenote, it was a last minute
touchdown pass that preserved OSU's win over Purdue in 2002. But i dont think i heard any analysts try and put Purdue on OSU's level, thats why i dont understand the justification of the USC game as a reason for the contract extension/high ranking.
