Dent, predators help keep animal populations in check. This is an ecological fact, you nitwit.
If you take away all the predators of a given animal, assuming everything else remains constant, food supply, mates, niche, etc, that species will increase in population. If not controlled, that species will exceed the ecosystem's carry capacity and members of that species will starve to death.
