Also, after studying so much of Sagan's books and other works, the more I read Clarke's novels, I really see the fantastic potential of partnership between science fiction writers and actual scientists. Clarke actually specifically mentions Sagan from a future perspective in some of his books, and a lot of the plots are clearly drawn from what were only speculations by Sagan at the time. Although Clarke did pretty much invent the telecommunications satellite, so he was a scientist too I guess. Staying up late is fun.
