It's Hunter from afi. I'm not completely finished with it, but i don't really care. You can tell me what you think of it. Or you can just not say anything like most of you bitches like to do.

The nose sucks now because I tried to make it smaller, the lips are lighter now, but i didn't want to take another picture, and the chin sucks ass. And then there's other stuff that went wrong with it. But it still kicks the ass of most pictures I've seen people draw of this guy. There you go.

If you want, you can post whatever it is that you've drawn, but chances are none of you will. Fuckerz.

Riddle me this: Why are people that aren't art-proned so ungodly impressed by those who are? (I'm not picking on you sim, this is something that's always bothered me). Some people are really fucking good at math, some people can write really really well (like Craig Davison) and some can give handjobs to two guys at once.

Now, I'm not necessarily impressed by this, it's just because their genetics allow them to use certain parts of their brains better than others... it just seems (to me) that the phrase is always, "Wow, you're so awesome, I wish I could draw," or "Dude, I can't do that, that's so amazing." I really lost where I was going with that, there was a positive alternative inside there someone but amidst the loudness of "Forest" by System, I lost it. Thanks for that.

By the by, I think it's a pretty well done portrait, that and it looks a lot like the singer from 311.

I think people are impressed because, after someone who can draw is finished with their project, everyone can look at it and see exactly what it is. If that same person was to put just as much effort into an abstract picture...that was just as good in its own right, I probably wouldn't think it was anything at all...simply because it'd look like complete randomness to me...whereas someone with similar talents would look at it and see masterpiece. When a mathematician figures out something really pimp...in mathematician standards...a pure artist doesn't know what the fuck is going on.

Basically, my best guess is that a non-artist (like me) is impressed by shit that people can do that looks real because they can see exactly what the final product is...and it's something that we actually know about. That's a guy's head up there. If a mathematician found a formula to the flight path of a moth...I probably wouldn't give a shit because I'd see the symbols and numbers on paper, and that's all (it'd be comparable to me only seeing lines in the above picture...)

titan- I really like all sorts of art, drawing, painting, music, etc. I'm not extremely talented in these areas but I'm impressed by those who are because it's something i'm interested in. Like Orgazmo said, it also has to do with being able to recognize what's being drawn, how real to life it looks. Basically, I could never draw a picture and make it look like a real face, i've always wished i could, therefore, i'm impressed by those who can. I simply admire their talent.

Are you telling me you don't act like this when you listen to music? Everyone compliments musicians on their works with basically the same type of comments given earlier towards this picture... Just a thought.

The point I was trying to make was that it makes sense to be impressed by something well done, but not just the fact that the person has that certain talent period. That case seems to happen much, and yes, it bothers me. It's ridiculous.

Maybe it's because, to people without artistic talent, creation of such a work of art is literally impossible, so when they see someone produce such a thing, they are impressed by the fact that this person has, in a way, done something which is (in their eyes) impossible.

That might be stretching it though.
