So the whale is like all the violence in the world. The people with umbrellas can't see the violence, or ignore it. You might call that nieve. It might be closer to lucky. The people without umbrellas see all the violence and problems in the world. Some of them handle it okay. Some of them run over to get their own umbrella. Worse, though, are those who can't deal with it, for they will soon take the place of the whale.

I'm surprised that no one's said anything about the actual stuff coming from the baleen. I liked Chuck's idea of wondering how the people could have gotten the beast up there... it kind of reminds me of the Maoi statues of Easter Island. For the people in my world, it's just a daily occurance. This whale fell from the sky (that's why they manufacture these huge iron spears and hoist them straight up). They catch the whale and basically feed the town with it. I liked Pliedes note that the whale looks like it's in pain, I feel that way too (you'd think that would hurt). It's in so much pain that it's grinding it's baleen (which would hurt a lot since it's just a bunch of vertical bars of tooth). Hence the stuff coming from the whale's mouth. If you think that's scary, imagine the whales that don't land on the spears. They're pissed off, they have to swim all the way back to the clouds (precipitation). Everyone in the village has an umbrella (they've invented them after many years to protect themselves from the debris that comes from the whale's mouth). This time the whale happened to land this way and the people on the left have to use their umbrellas until the whale dies. Now if the umbrellas were on the other side you could interpret it as a social statement. Those who live on the right side have umbrellas, and even though they don't need them and the other people do, they still won't give them up. Fucking bastards. | ||

Hmm...I see a lot of people going to eat. Not to eat the whale...the whale isn't real. They're going to the restaurant that is found underneath the sand...and the whale is simply a sign for the restaurant. It's kinda like their calling card (on the way to ball state, there's this huge ass statue of a guy...he's not holding a car...i don't think...but there's a little platform where a small car could probably go...it's for a car lot...it's that type of thing). The shit coming from the whale's mouth is really water...just another part of the attraction. Of course, this is all in the future...where whales in pain will attract people to a restaurant (probably a seafood restaurant). The couple all the way to the left is on a date. That's cute.

Orgazmo, suprisingly enough, I know of what statue you are referring to. That used to be the location of an RV sales place, and coincidentally enough, the man was holding an RV at one time, but when the place closed down, the RV in his palm went down also. Irrelevant nonetheless, just thought I'd let ya know.

Wow. Brilliant use of Sharpies.
I also feel that the whale looks like it genuinely hurts, internally and externally. Externally for obvious reasons (fucking huge spear in it's heart) but also internally because it is on display for everyone to see. No one is making an attempt to help it as it just rests there and dies slowly. It reminds me of the picture of Quang-Duc burning himself alive. Instead of people helping him, they are taking pictures...what the hell? |

I don't think that Quang-Duc wanted people to help him though. I think the people around him knew that. It was a blatant demonstration. If he's going to go to such great lengths to set himself on fire and not move, then I guess if you put him out, you'd have one pissed fucker on your hands.

I really think there should be more art posted on Nubblies, not only by Titan though. His are nice but one person can only draw so much. I would post a few of my decent ones, but I have no scanner.

Yeah, I gotta agree on that one.
However, there's alot of things that factor into people not taking action on saving people's lives when they're right in front of them. Usually, in the hanging case, it's a mob. While it is exceptionally unfortunate, anyone trying to help the guy getting hanged gets the quick choke as well. Same thing with getting shot, although you don't need to have a mob this way. You just don't want to sacrifice your own life or waste it on trying to save someone else, just cause it probably isn't worth it. That's also pretty unfortunate, but you have to take your battles where you can win them in those stances. I do agree though, that there are many instances where people just choose not to help, when they are in full capability to do something. |

I saw this video on RealTV of this camera operator who happened to video a guy accidently driving off the road into a big ditch. His wife was really hurt in the crash and the guy kept filming even after the driver got out of the car and started yelling at him and pushing the camera away. The guy was like "What the hell do you think you're doing?" and the cameraman's like "I'm doing my job." Yeah, too bad he was doing a horrible job being a human.

You know what? I just happened to watch that exact episode the other day. Great episode...however, I missed the end of it, which led me to cut off my own fingers. Damn.

you run and you run to catch up to the sun but it's sinking, and racing around to come up behind you again. the sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death
