It's time to get depressed kiddies.
Surely there have been many a time when you've been depressed and you've had the aid of depressing music to get you through your troubled times. Well now it's time to compile them all together into one big sullen album. I can already hear the multitude of sadness pouring through my speakers. By the way, I don't care how much you love him or how depressed and wussy he is, we will only be taking one Dashboard Confessional song. Thanks. I'm actually going to hold off on my submission until I can see everyone else's. I have finally narrowed it down to two, but I need to see what kinds of stuff everyone else suggests so that I know which one is needed more. I've decided to go with Vanessa Carlton's "Greensleeves". Commence: Current List: Pliedes: Pedro the Lion Secret of the Easy Yoke - 6:40 Stabmaster Arson: James Taylor Fire and Rain - 3:22 tonguegina: Rufus Wainwright Hallelujah - 4:09 Ugly Bastard: Elliot Smith Miss Misery - 3:11 Fruitacious B The New Amsterdams Lonely Hearts - 2:31 Orgazmo: Ben Harper Another Lonely Day - 3:43 fancymeghan: Matchbox Twenty You Won't Be Mine - 5:21 Alpha: From Autumn to Ashes Chloroform Perfume - 4:29 silver and cold: Billy Talent Nothing to Lose - 3:38 malibu: Taking Back Sunday You're So Last Summer - 4:01 Me Gustan Nalgas: Couting Crows Colorblind - 3:25 Professor Number: Black Lab She Loves Me - 4:32 Titan: Vanessa Carlton Greensleeves - 3:31 rla128: Denison Witmer Broken - 3:19 Dirty Harry: The Vines Homesick - 4:55 AcTivE: Yo La Tengo Don't Have to Be So Sad - farawayfromhere: Yellowcard Empty Apartment - 3:36 Percipere’Chan: Toad the Wet Sprocket Pray Your Gods - 4:58 Combat Chuck: Damien Rice I Remember - 5:31 [ December 08, 2003, 07:28 PM: Message edited by: Titan ] |

This was fairly difficult. I could easily make my own mix. I'm pretty sure I didn't take anyone's, but if someone else would like to choose Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah 4:09, then I'd be willing to change.

The New Amsterdams - Lonely Hearts 2:31
Other good recommendations The Lyndsay Diaries - Where the Sidewalk Ends or Whispers of a Long Goodnight The Prize Fight - Goodnight Kiss (the one i probably should've recommended) Abreaction - Give My Heart The New Amsterdams - Goodbye I have really high expectations for this comp, I really do. Actually, it's not that big of a surprise from Matchbox Twenty. They're damn good, so songs like that aren't surprising 'tall.

High expectations, my African-American compatriot, high expectations.
I only pray that hardcore will not find it's way onto this cd. Hardcore just isn't that depressing. |

Rargh. This is soooo fucking hard. Why? Cause there's so much fucking depressing music that I love...maybe that's why I HATE MY LIFE! HATE IT!
Anyway, I could go with the Eels, I could go with a Bill Ricchini song, I could go with Bright Eyes (don't fret, a good Bright Eyes song), I could go with Damien Jurado, I could go with David Gray, I could go with, I could go with Beth Orton, I could go with Radiohead, I could go with Rockwell Church, I could go with sooooooo many songs it ain't even funny. Then there's the Jeff Buckley song that.... *rambles on and decides that he's going to go figure this fucker out. |

From Autumn To Ashes - Cloroform Perfume 4:29
One of my favorite lines is in this song. "I keep repeating, but this payphone tele has stopped recieving. 'Flat out of change now and I'm sure you won't except the charges 'It's all the same, because by morning I'll be half-way to Colorado... Or someplace like that." |

There was a point in time when I didn't think there could be any worse sound than that of the screaming in From Autumn to Ashes' music. I was wrong. Their singing is a lot worse. Good song though.

What the hell is it with Billy Talent nowadays, Titan and I listened to them way back at the beginning of the semester, people just grab onto these bands so quickly...
And if someone is going to suggest a Ben Folds song, "Fred Jones Pt II" or "Evaporated" are good ones... [ December 03, 2003, 04:30 PM: Message edited by: Pliedes ] |

Titan, we watched them on that CTN channel, remember the guy with the funny hair?
Alpha, I agree with you completely. I'm not claiming them as my own, I don't really like them that much at all. It's just that I had never heard anybody say a bloody thing about them until the last few days, where I've heard 6 different people say something. I just found it really odd. That's all. |
