Nice, it looks promising.

I'm not running any beta and don't plan to, but, because my laptop was purchased after some day (June 26 I think?), I get a free upgrade...which is pretty badass of Microsoft to offer.

Apple dominates the $1000+ computer market. They rely on their image that apple users are elite from their microsoft counterparts (why do you think people like f3lix gravitate toward them?). If apple became the leader in mainstream market they'd lose they're main consumer base.

Same level? Same level of what? Comparing Apple to Microsoft is like comparing apples to oranges (no pun intended!) (ok it was actually intended!).

Apple is dominating the new-wave techonology with Ipods and Iphones. They've got a lot of catching up to do when it comes to computers because these are not new devices and people don't like to change. I was constantly having problems with my PC and needing to run anti-virus shit all the damn time. I never have to worry about that stuff with a Mac.

F3lix, are you making the argument that Macs are for people who "get" computers and new technology, and Windows is for people who can't? It seems to me that Macs are generally for people who need a UI fit for a retarded 4 year old because they can't figure out anything else.

While it is true Mac is targeting young hipsters, its also targeting old people who don't get technology. Older people in general (less men, however) as well as many other tech-retarded women will swear on their lives that Macs are the BEST THING EVAR because how how "easy they are to use!!!1"

I think windows is easy as fuck to use. Doesn't mean i go around harping about how easy it is all the time. What does that say about the general mac population?

Either way, make a Mac thread if you want, this one is about Windows 7.

I am getting a new macbook within the next two months. Too many problems with PC's over the years that I'm finally ready to see what the fuss is all about.

I'm entering this switch with an open mind and heart. I know how sensitive the mac to pc debate can be and I want to be able to stroke both users penis' with a true care. I'll just stroke Macs a little more after I get my macbook and use it for a few years to see where my laptop using experience takes me.
