I'm trying to steal a couple CDs on Kazaa but I'm having a bit of trouble. After I download a song I play it to make sure it's complete and that it's the song I want; however, every song I download plays good for about 15 seconds and then goes completely distorted and makes my ears bleed. I don't know a lot about file sharing but any help would be appreciated.

Those are the bogus songs that record companies are putting out. For a lot of songs it is hit or miss. You may want to download multiple versions of the same song and just keep the one that works best. Usually the larger MP3 files are real, because those are ripped at higher quality by actual users. It is also a good idea to download .wma files as well.

Ya, just keep downloading them, But if its kazaa, you get one bogus one, many many many more are goign to be so, becasue people share them, its annoying, I've got the same problem. Just keep trying.

Dirty, try downloading limewire. It tells you when you get a corrupt file and gives you the option of deleting it. It still has corrupt files on there, but at least you know it's corrupt and it gives you the option of deleting it so you can just keep your search window up and download a different version. I have yet to have it miss a corrupted file and it is so much better than Kazaa. I strongly recommend Limewire.

limewire is working great, I just downloaded it today and already I've stolen a CD!
