Ok, i need some serious advice, not just a bunch of people making fun of this tread, one of my really good friends is trying to kill her self....and i dunno what to do, i know i should go to someone, but i dunno who.. her mom and dad dont even care, i tried, mine wouldnt understand,and i dont know who else to go to....

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You could always try and help her yourself. Like, call her up and talk her out of it and make her realize that her life is worth living and stuff like that.

Just... do something. Maybe you could go over there yourself?

Ya i def. say it is going to be up to you and her other friends. Or if it gets really bad you should try to get like I dunno someone older taht she actually respects and would listen to. And of coarse if it really really gets bad seek professional help like Bowen or whatever. But for now I think you need to take her out and have fun and just talk to her.

She's just pretending to kill herself to get attention. If she really wanted to commit suicide, you wouldn't have the time to make a post like this, 'cause you'd be at a funeral parlor.

Some people really have problems and you are going to just say that she is doing it for attention... some people don't just do it for attenttion, they wait to see if their is anything to live for... i mean even if she is trying to get attention, you still have to take it seriously and be around her... i had a friend who i found trying to kill themselves, but i got there and that person got help, so I'm saying attention or no attention, you and her friends have to be the best of friends and show her why to live.

I completely agree with Ugly. If someone is going to kill themself...they're not going to tell people about it before they do it, at least not with enough time for that other person to stop them...let alone get onto a board, get advice, and apply that advice.

I would say that the best way to stop this suicide would be to introduce this person to Nubblies. It's already given quite a few people a reason to live, I'm sure it can handle one more.

I'll go ahead and move this to the advice forum now.

ok, i talked to her..things arent exactly that easy as to tell the cops&such..but i dont have time for that, and yes i have told her about Nubblies, and i think she has already signed up..at a better time i will find out who she is on here and such..

People who threaten suicide need to be treated like little children who act up in order to get attention... they should be ignored. This will force them to try another avenue to get the attention they crave, most of the time it's something more positive.

I think I've gone over this on the board awhile ago, but I'll go ahead and rehash it...
the way I see it is that if I were to attempt suicide and fail... that would just be one more think i failed at in life and another reason that I would feel worthless and want to die. If you're gonna do it, do it right!

Another thing... call me heartless... but if your friend no longer wants to live and her parents don't care if she continues life, maybe you should take a step back and let nature take it's course... perhaps life isn't your friend's niche and she would be better suited for something else.

tell her to go ahead with it. Tell her to use a gun because when people usually try killing themselves with pills usually get found by someone and get taken to the hospital and get better.. A gun is a sure way.

Silver and cold, you sound like a pushover. We're giving you all this shitty advice (well, there has been some shitty advice here) and you just say 'yeah, that sounds good' even when we say to not help her out.

I think maybe you're taking this into too much consideration seeing as how you seem to believe everything that people say. This further proves that your friend might be feigning suicidal-ness just for attention. It really is a good way to get people to notice you.

If a person really wanted to kill themselves, they would do it. It's not really that hard. There are ample ways to kill yourself that don't take too much effort. She's probably really depressed and wants attention. Who knows, maybe she might really try and kill herself, you should probably do what you can to stop her, but if she's going to, I don't think there is a whole lot that you can do.

Also, I don't think nubblies would be the best place to seek advice for someone trying to kill themself since our motto is "Ruining Lives One Perons At a Time." Just a thought there though.

Killing yourself is a pussy's way out, i say just tell your friend to toughen up. Life sucks a lot of times you know? But why end life? Maybe if he/she's like in a neonazi concentration camp and is being raped every day by three bald 40 year old men, then she might have a good reason. Unless that's the case, which i'm sure it isn't, just tell your friend to get the balls to work his/her way through tough shit.
