I can pretty much guarantee that there's another verse to contradict every one that you could mention, that's the way the bible works. I don't like the way Christians will quote the Old Testament to verify their faith, and then brush it off as 'old' or as if it's less relevant than the New Testament when faced with counterpoints from that same section of the bible.
