Another Brick in the Wall

Dear rla128,
You're an alright guy, I suppose, but you sure aren't perfect. Stop procrastinating things so much. It's going to be just as fun or hard whether you do it now, or later, and it usually just makes things worse when you put things off too much. Stop being so lazy, and just do your work! You do fairly well in school, but you have the potential to do so much better. Stop being a moron, and do it. God is awesome. Get that into your head, and keep it there. You know He can give you everything you need, so stop trying to do things on your own so much! Have more faith, and just let Him handle things more, because you know He know's what He's doing. Stop making stupid decisions. You know what's right, and what's wrong. No matter how good those wrong things may seem, you know they're never really what they seem. Stop being so idiotic about that. You think you know everything, and you're always right, but you're not. Stop being so stuobborn and narrowminded about things. You know it only leads to arguments. And about those--if it's not a big deal, just give it up! Who cares if you're right... it doesn't matter about the stupid little things. Don't be a hypocrite. Yes, some people do act stupidly sometimes, but that doesn't mean you should classify them, or put them down. You know how much you hate it when people do that to you, so don't do it to them! You stupid hypocritical idiot, you. Treat your girlfriend right, she sure deserves it. Let her help you improve yourself, and be willing to change. You know she knows what's good for you, so don't be so reluctant. And you know that argumentative side of yourself? Drop it... completely. Whether you think it or not, arguing with a girl gets nowhere. Just remember how amazing this girl is, and treat her the way she deserves to be treated. Oh, and nice touch with the rose and poem in her car on your one month anniversary. Talk to your parents more. Every day you realize more and more how smart and wise they are, so start utilizing that! Sure, they're freaky old people, but you know how much they love you, and how willing they are to give you advice. You know you want to grow closer to them, so do it! Keep growing closer to your brother and sister. They're both really great people, and you should get to know them better. You'll thank me later. Forget about what everyone else says. No matter how many people say something is right, it isn't necessarily right. It doesn't matter what other people think of you. Just do what you know is right, and what makes you happy, because those who really care about you aren't going to think what you're doing is stupid. BE YOURSELF. You don't always have to try so hard to be funny and witty, because oftentimes it's just annoying, and it's just not you. You've been better with this, but keep at it. Don't get the idea that everyone else is hopeless, either. That's just stupid. Don't just post all of these things, but actually work to improve them. No matter what you think, it's not as hard as you make it seem to change yourself for the better. --rla128 [That felt good. Why didn't you pay attention in highschool? Oh yeah that's right, you're lazy. Your biggest problem right now is the huge range of not caring at all, to stressing out until you're almost sick. Choose a happy medium would you? Or better yet, remove the stress of college by actually studying like you should be. So you didn't understand chemistry back in chapter three? Maybe instead of giving up and complaining that you didn't understand it, you should have studied and worked at it until you did, cuz now you've got nine chapters to learn before your final exam that's less than a week away. Smooth. From now on, how about you quit pretending your work will do itself, and just do it. You've made it through your first semester of college, and while it was a lot harder to adjust than you thought, that excuse has been way over used by you. Suck it up, you're in college now. Your friends know you miss them, so stop sitting in front of the computer all day so you can talk to them, turn it off and get to work. Your parents are being so great by paying for you to be at school, why don't you repay them by, you know, not failing out. Speaking of your parents, I'm proud of the way you can now hang out with your mom and the two of you aren't constantly angry. You're getting along much better than you were a few years ago. Sure your parents still piss you off sometimes, but try to keep in mind that they love you and only want the best, and want you to be safe. So the next time they make you mad, try to keep in mind their point of view, and if it sucks, then you can get mad. So whatever happened with you and God being so close? You were doing so well for such a long time, but then it just kind of stopped. Your excuse now is that you're in a new city and you don't know where to go to church and la de da de dah. Cut the crap. Your school offers programs and bible study groups, so get off your lazy butt and go. You know you've really been slacking lately. Working out. Do you remember what that is? Oh yeah! You used to go three times a week, when was the last time you went? Get up and do something productive would you? Hold on to your friends from high school. People keep saying you don't talk to most of your friend after you go to college. Neither of us want that to happen. You've already drifted away from some of them, but you seem to be staying in contact with the ones you were close to. Keep that up. You always say your Senior year of high school was the best one ever, its because of the people you shared it with. Don't let those friendships die. Tell your friends how much they mean to you. Everyone likes knowing they're appreciated. Never let him go. Even though he knows how much you love him, tell him anyway. No one can ever hear that too much. Take time to relax--after you study. Listen to music, play the piano (when was the last time you did that?), go for a walk, enjoy the beauty of nature, breathe in the slightly polluted Indy air. Don't get frustrated over small things. Try to have a positive outlook on situations. You're starting to do a little bit better with your roommate, you don't make as many death threats as you used to. Let's try to stop that all together shall we? Its not her fault she's a-- umm, yes, let's not judge people alright? I'm sure there's a tiny bit of nice in her somewhere. Also, let's learn to forgive and forget shall we? Not only with others, but with yourself. Life's too short to spend time upset. You're usually pretty good about admitting when you're wrong, just accept the fact and move on. Cherish your time. Don't stress out so much. You've got three and a half more years of college before you're on your own. Make your time at home worthwhile, spend time with your friends. In a few years everyone will be moving away from one another and getting jobs and some will be getting married...your childhood is beginning to end, so enjoy it while you can. The next step is going to be actually taking my advice. Stop being lazy and get some stuff done. I'll be with you every step of the way. much love -sim Pliedes, that was a great idea :] thanks [ December 09, 2003, 01:12 PM: Message edited by: sim_flex_x ] |

I can't help but notice the amount of people that feel they are straying from God. I honestly wouldn't have noticed this if I wouldn't have said the same, but it's nice to see that I'm not the only one.

How long has it been? Three years? Four? And you still can't let it go. I know, there's something precious that you're trying to hold on to. But, when is it too much? People all around you are knocking to get in. And there you are locked away inside your precious gem that you're so afraid will shatter, that you let no one in at all. Sure, you can bandy words with the best and still even entertain but, putting yourself on the line? Being your old gregarious social butterfly self is just still beyond you isn't it? It's just not good enough. What is this precious gem you're holding on to for anyway? Or rather who is it for? What's the use in building up a way to communicate this radiant brilliance if you've completely lost touch with people? And even now, you're not being direct. Sinking in too much thought on how to make it all sound pretty rather than really dealing with the issue at hand.
What can you say about shutting people out when they reach out a hand? It's automatic, you know that. You're not even in control. Isn't that 'Sick'? You can't take it back after it's been done. 'Eddie' still pours thickly over your leadened heart. I just don't know how much faith I have in you anymore. If you plan on ever pulling yourself out of this protective rut you've dug, you can't afford to automatically reject any hand of friendship offered out. It's okay to protect your dreams and ambitions but you must make a conscious choice. Fear is the little death and you're surrounded by death as surely as a sole survivor in a uncovered mass grave. My question to you tonight is: What will you do to harmonize your fear? Something must be done. You can't escape in your work any longer. I won't let you. I won't battle for control. We both know that's not the answer. But, I won't remain dormant forever either. Your social self 'walks upon that social thread' without out the fear of social dread. I'm wilting. You don't realize it yet. Not really. You won't let yourself see. But I too crave to BE. I crave the spotlight. The center crowd. I am that which transcends ego boundries. That which knows unity in emotion and logic. I am fruitless and cripple. In your time gathering resource and creating affluence, I am dying. Do not come back for me too late. |

A short note to everyone else's letters to themselves:
I think this is one of the best threads on the forum. Everything I've read on here as been awesome. I've found two and just recently (solidified this morning) a third fundamental truth to life. 1. The world is what you make it Neither fair or unfair and both. Because: 2. Your Focus determines your Reality. Much if not all is dependent upon your whether you see with eyes crackling with enthusiasm or eyes blinded by fear. The key to controlling this is through refining your Will. Have Ambition. Know a goal. For 3. Solid goals/ambitions empower your will. When down, up, angry, frustrated, depressed, confused... The more you focus on your goals/ambitions, the harder it is to see the problems that you write about in this thread. If you become strong enough, they dwindle from your conscious thought completely. hope this helps. keep up the good posts. |

Fuck Heaven.
& Hell is more pure right here in my own living room than in any ridiculous mythology you're buying into. I don't give one jolly Fuck about what people think about after they: kick the bucket, buy the farm, shuffle off this mortal coil, go join the bloody choir invisible, etc. I live out pure Hell here everyday when I go to work. I enjoy Heaven everytime I come home to read my friends' posts on nubblies. I experience boundless adventure when coming up with badass design ideas and discussing intelligent business plans at work. I suffer endless remorse when I come home to a stupid ass tiny hiljack vs. punk-ganster wannabe town where my house gets broken into, and my shit gets stolen. Fuck Heaven. Fuck Hell. Doesn't come into my picture. Ask yourself, why does it come into yours? For those of you that haven't happened to have read my post about Women in the here's an idea! thread: Quote:
Same shit goes here. Why the fuck would I care about something someone else has *told* me is going to happen After I Die? How do these people know!? Oh, I see... They've been there. (what a bunch of fucking idiots). Maybe... Oh! That's right... GOD told them. Thats funny. I'm Absolutely Sure 'God' told me to pursue Fun, Love, and Adventure for all I'm worth. Again... Why the fuck would I care about something someone else has *told* me is going to happen After I Die? Especially when one end sounds extremely unpleasant, and the other you have to suffer your Entire Fucking Life to earn? Once more... Fuck That. Maybe this phrase should be my Fourth Fundamental Truth. AhHem...: Focus on what you know. Forget about what you don't know. The more I know about (in risk of using too much bold-ing in one post) Life the better grasp I'll have on Death. And I'll figure that out on my own and with the aid of my family and friends thanks. PS- Although I really like the new tag line I found... For its inexorably related message, I'm temporarily switching it back to the original. 2nd Post Script - *I AM GOD. *(for further information on how Percipere'Chan is in fact, Your God, and how you can learn to fruitfully appease him, please refer to text from the highly celebrated "Rig Vedas".) | |

You try to portray yourself as some badass who knows what they are talking about, especially, 'intellectually' and I quote from your post on self portraits(simply proving how intellectual you are) Quote:

fuck it. if you can't take the time to find out for yourself, why are you bothering mentioning what seems like the guilt of maybe not considering what someone ELSE told you? 4) Focus on what you know. However, I can also consider myself 'God'. With a few 'vi', and maybe a lil 'chown', and perhaps a 'rm -rf' here and there, your fucked I'm not going to though.
