It was incredible. I woke up at 5:30something not knowing wtf was going on. I went downstairs expecting to see a congregation of people outside giving each other high fives. Instead...there was nothing. So I turned on the news to make sure it wasn't a dream. Turns out it wasn't.

I welcome the earthquake to return whenever it sees fit.

That was one of the coolest things I've felt. Woke up to what I thought was somebody moving my mattress back and forth. I'm just pissed I wasn't completely with it when it happened, that would of been nice.

Can anyone else explain how it felt because I can't. There was shaking but my bed literally felt like my mattress was being moved back and forth, I put my hand on the wall (my bed is up against a corner) to steady myself. I too would welcome that sensation again anytime.

It was stronger in bloomington than it was in Warsaw and I felt it a lot. You probably just didn't wake up from it. It was felt as far south as Atlanta, GA and all the way north to Milwaukee and east in Cinncinati. It rattled a picture off of my friends wall in Indianapolis and a local retaurant in Warsaw had glass break because of it.

Haha... wow this all sounds badass. I didn't realize earthquakes can have such range... I always though they're sorta like, I dunno... regionalized.

It wasn't really a shake as much as a rumble, imo. It was really loud and grindy soundy. I assume that was just the sound of the building getting its ass kicked...not the actual quake itself. It felt kinda like the world was sitting on a back massager. That was the first one, at least. The aftershock that happened at 11:15ish was really just like an up/down side to side jostle. I assume that's because I'm on the 4th floor of an office building, though...as opposed to just in my apartment. They were both badass and scary in an "oh god I have no control" kind of way.

I remember in Elementary school, one of my teacher's told us we live on a HUGE Fault line. I remember this cause I'm obsessed with natural disaters like tornados and stuff. (BDH, We have to go storm hunting this year) He said it was very unlikely a devistating earth quake would ever hit our region, but if an earthquake did, it would be a decent sized one. There was on when I was little. It was later at night. I didn't even feel any of this this morning as I was working on a gigantic piece of cement. Damn.

Update: There was significant damage to my house during this earth quake. A PS2 controller and an empty water bottle fell off of my tv stand. The Insurance company has yet to return my call.

For me it was more of a gentle rocking back and forth... like being on a boat. I think its weird that there were different kinds of shaking described.
