Last night was the last game of our official season, and we finished with a 12-0 record. First perfect season since 1949, and of course, it happened after we graduated. I went to like, maybe 1 football game in college because we sucked so bad. But hey, look where they got us...cut the track and field team, made some costly additions to the stadium, and then was able to get some good recruits in apparently.

Anybody got the inside skinny on this? Hard to get quality information out here in AZ. We making it to a bowl game?

Shaw, what kind of chances does Ball State have of making it into a BCS game?

Slim to none. Their strength of schedule was so weak, they haven't climbed the BCS rankings like one would think a 12-0 team do. Utah and Boise St. would have lose. Then they would have a shot at an At Large bid. I don't see those 2 teams losing though. They are a hard sell for the bowl committee. Their fans won't travel as well as say a Georgia. The TV ratings also wouldn't be as good, so they might get way undervalued when it comes to a bowl game. It's a shame cause they are a damn fun team to watch. They would beat ND by 2 Touchdowns this year. I love it.

FWIW, I am most def going if they get a BCS and wouldn't rule it out if they're in Detroit on Dec. 26th. Any interest in driving up for that, Gaz?

Utah's season is over and they are 12-0. Ball State is NOT going to the BCS unless the most WILD events occur to more than half the top 10 teams over the next two weekends.

Last year, their bowl game was in Canada. A couple of my buddies when up there and went with a special Alumni group or something. I have yet to attend a bowl game. On my list of Sporting events I want to see in my life.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that I don't plan on being here forever, as its an intro job in the tech field for me, but when and if he leaves and competes for the same job as me, i'll have a much higher chance of getting it, but i took it out cause I wanted to drop it.

But if there is one thing I have found after graduating is that there are LOTS of entry level jobs that don't require a degree...kinda bullshit. I'm still banking on the jobs after entry level being a little more selective, though.

Ball State won't go to a BCS game, Utah already went undefeated and chances are Boise State will as well.

As mentioned above unless there are major upsets after major upsets its not going to happen. Ball State didn't beat one single ranked team this year. You have to look at what happened to Hawaii last year in a BCS bowl vs. Georgia. I think they got beat by like 40. That doesn't help for non BCS schools wanting a bid.

I just hope Ball State doesn't get stuck in something like the Motor City Bowl. I'd at least like to see them go to something a little better, but with the MAC not having any higher tie in's that'd be my guess as to where they will be bowling.
