Anybody watching? GWB, have you started following a particular team yet? The rest of the English posters have a team?

My favorite English team, Liverpool, looked great in the first knockout round beating Real Madrid 1-0 and 4-0. My Italian team, Inter, looked pretty bad in a 0-0 tie and had horrible coaching and played pretty bad losing 2-0 to Man United.

Second year in a row 4 English teams in the final 8; Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Barcelona, Villareal, Porto, Liverpool, and Man United left. United are the clear favorites now, with Barca and Liverpool the next most likely.

Playing FIFA has me following soccer more than I have before.

Man U are running away with the league, so they're looking pretty good to take this, with Barcelona + liverpool second/third
Looking forward to watching Barcelona play, their strikers are real fast.

Bayern is damn good on FIFA, speed on the wings and Toni to be a big, goofy, greasy target; although sometimes I play Podolski instead of him.

I always put klose in as well and change the strikers to a triangle. I love 'em. I used to be addicted to Inter...but then one day I just started sucking dick with them. Not sure what happened.

Inter is my "beat the pricks who use the group of EA created superhumans man u with 6 attacking players, ronaldo up top, and just abuse their unrealistic godlike ability" team.

I normally move Maxwell to left mid, bring on Chivu in his place, and bring on Adriano instead of Cruz. If you need to score late bring on Mancini for Zanetti and/or move Stankovic in place of Zanetti pull Ibrahimovic back to where Stankovic was and bring on another striker.

If you really really need to score or want better PK takers go Balotelli left, Ibra at CAM, Cruz and Adriano up top, and Crespo right.

If they are the previously mentioned assholes take off Samuel who is slow, move Chivu to the middle, make sure Cordoba is in front of Ronaldo if he is a striker; if he is a winger either put Zanetti at LB or move Maicon from RB to LB if even that doesn't work.

Inter is deep magic.

Yes. I've been following Tottenham, who are a quite dogshit team and not good enough for the Champions League. For this I'll support Man U. I also have Fifa 09 on PS3, my name is chnmille. Have never played it online before, and I'm not too good, but you guys want to play some time?

Probably 75% or so of them going back down, depending on who is bought (wolves defense sucks) in the pre-season, also how they gel and such.
Sylvan Ebanks Blake (avatar) has ripped the championship up, 23 goals so far, but I doubt his pace will be good enough for the premiership, the style of play is a lot different.

Edit : This guy seems like one of the best up and coming US player

I'm not familiar with the fifa video game, but european football is one of the few sports I follow and get excited about!

Anyone remember last time around when we had THREE english teams in the final four....and they all fell short to Milan......fuck the italians.

Final draw is on the 20th. Watch the english teams pull each others' numbers again...

Go reds.

There were 3 in the final four last year; Milan won in 07.

Orgazmo is a formidable opponent. And the match was played with two 4.5 star teams. In my defense, however, I played with Tottenham away for all 3 matches, whereas Orgazmo played with Super-club Liverpool at home.

That's a pretty valid excuse though, Tottenham are shit and should not be 4.5 stars, their captain came back to them hat in hand after failing to do anything with liverpool.

Liverpool meanwhile have the most unstoppable striker in the game, and the real world, Fernando Torres.

Protip: Do the same thing with the keeper for the whole shootout, it will almost always get you the one save you need since people tend to overthink their shots.

I gotta play GWB and continue my geeky conquest.
