A lot of people may not agree with this, but i think that it would be of the better intrest of the site if you did charge a fee. I know I would pay $5 for use of this site, i have talked to a few others that said the same. That would get rid of the shit we have on this site!
You could make it so you have to buy a something@nubblies.com email and that is the only way you can get into the site.
although a lot of people probably wouldn't like the idea as much as me.

I don't know what active is talking about, but with my plan i say up and front, or maybe yearly... however much that stuff costs... i really don't know myself.

believe it or not, nubblies.com does cost money...not a lot to me because I run off of fixed costs and nubblies.com doesn't take a whole lot...

but actually having the domain "nubblies.com" costs $10 a year, so it would be good to be able to run it for free...

I pay $137/month for the server that nubblies.com runs off of..but I also run about 50 other sites..so that's more than covered...but it'd be cool to start getting money for nubblies...

This is actually not a bad idea...considering that "Nubblies.com" will run out sometime (probably soon...) and I'll have to repay the cash out of my pocket. Not to mention that Active should get some cash for hosting this...

I've been contacted by the people I lease my servers from for an illegal vBulletin copy a client was running...they crack down on that stuff pretty hard I guess (vBulletin)

Just designed better..runs faster when there are more posts (do a search..I'm pretty sure UBB is bitched about quite a bit)

there is also Ikonboard, which is sorta like vBulletin, but free (and has vBulletin skins)

...just more efficient..what there is now is good, but there is a lot better ..just check them out

one example is the search..UBB will go through each forum..takes forever, vBB or Ikonboard, type it in, and BOOM! like that, it searches everything and prints results

think vBB and Ikonboard all run off single files rather than creating a new one for every single damn thing..

I think that the newer versions of UBB have a much faster search function. At least the search @ ubbdev.com is lightning fast. I don't know if that's just a hack they installed or the actual board, but it's nice. I can see how skins would be nice though and, since Nubblies is destined to have about 34,000 posts within 2 weeks, efficiency is a good thing.
